Bryson using Titleist range ball

I am just trying to figure out how the engineers at Bridgestone are going to be innovative without his highly scientific input.

“I have a much deeper role in mind with Bridgestone. I want to be a bigger part of their R&D process and help develop golf ball technology for the future of the game while pushing the limits of golf ball designs to benefit the full spectrum of players.”

I'm sure there was a plethora of "high fives" and maybe even a popping of a cork or two.

This is a perfect anti-sponsorship opportunity.

If i'm Bryson i show up all Bridgestone, new tires with the white paint on the rental car, flashiest ball they got. Name drop them 7 times in your interview....

I just don't get why they don't do this. What's Bridgestone gonna do? Come out and call you a liar LOL....No, they will pay you not to do it.

That my friends, is what me and Chip call the Anti-Sponsorship. Perfect for 2022

“anti-sponsorship, coming to a petty professional athlete near you”

the only contract wrinkle here is that he’s not sponsored by bridgestone for apparel.

I would also change my LIV golf team name to "Team Sponsored by Bridgestone"

Maybe he found it on the course somewhere. 😐

Lol.

However, that is 100% why I moved from titleist to Bridgestone in 2010. Was in a member guest and was playing terribly. Had lost about 5 balls in the round and had 2 holes left to play. While looking for my prov1 I found a b330s. Played it for grins the next 2 holes and was really surprised at the performance.

2 weeks later I was on the course with sleeves of prov1 and b330s. Compared driver, iron shots, and short game shots, head to head. Bridgestone was as long or longer, as accurate on approach shots, but much better around the greens.

Made the switch that day.

It's a generalization sure, but it's common convention that faster speeds benefit from higher compression. TXG did a video about the softest and hardest tour balls from bridgestone with Drew cooper. The RXS and the BX (Bryson's ball). The AVX has a similar compression level to the RXS.

The left dot has seemingly the same purpose as the AVX in being low/low, but at a higher compression.

I've played the tour bx, switched to the vice pro plus recently because I couldn't find any difference in performance. And I like the price point and colors vice offers.

Just because they dropped him doesn’t mean they won’t still give him product. These guys get what they want for free even if they are not sponsored by the companies.  All the non Titleist players with Vokey WW in their bag are not ordering them on the website.  They just ask for it.  I’m sure Bryson isn’t sending someone to Dicks to buy a few dozen balls…

Interesting.  I would think if they dropped him, they would control what product he uses.  He did say he would continue to use the Bridgestone ball though.

They would have no control. He can play what he likes but it would be on his own dime unless someone was gunning for him to be a spokesperson and sent him some balls to try or an Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator.

A great ball. I was playing some today from the last of my stash.

Number one bandana at Sturgis a few years back, far and away.  Sold out in short fashion. Could play in my group any day.  Bet he doesn’t play stock shaft offerings in OEM.

Left dash would be good for him except..........his AoA is +8 with driver from what I've read.  He needs something that launches low and doesn't spin.  Maybe a top-flite or pinnacle, lol.

He likes high launching balls so he can lower his lofts more and reduce spin that way.

That's not really how range balls work on tour. Especially at major championships.

Just about every single ball a player uses is available for use on the range. A player simply tells those working at the range what ball they want. Not that this would ever happen, but if a Titleist staffer wanted to use Srixon balls on the range all he would have to do is ask for Srixon balls.

Bryson absolutely would have had the option to use Bridgestone balls if he wanted to.

Definitely using a Titleist today. But they have so many models and renditions available, wonder which one he uses.

For someone as particular as Bryson is with his equipment choices, lofts / lies on irons, lengths of clubs, to his setup and swing in general, I wonder what it was for him to ditch his gamer for the past 4+? years and go to Titleist. But again, they offer so many models, including previous year models quite readily.

The golfers are superstitious and it takes a lot to switch equipment and is done over the course of weeks.
