PXG 0211 XCOR2 Irons

Saw the 0211 DCs are down to wedges only in stock on the PXG site. That free shipping must have blown through their stock. Guess now they have to pull their “our clubs ship in less than a week” ad

I just ordered a driver and an iron and the phone rep said it might be 2 weeks.

Isn’t it odd that there’s not a lot out there on YouTube reviews for any of the Gen5 stuff?

I think since they went DTC many of the reviewers either don’t get or ask for product to review. This is one of the few reviews I’ve found on YouTube.

Can we get this back to maybe some user reviews on the 0211 Xcor’s. Anyone compared them yet to the DC’s?

I have Gen3 XPs now, but was thinking about trying the 0211 XCORE 2s. What would you say is the difference in performance or feel between the two?

Too early to tell, literally only hit them in a scramble yesterday, so still gotta put them to a real test for yardages, etc. but early indication is…good thru the turf, went exactly where I aimed and feel really good.  Not as soft as the Gen3 p’s but still very good.

If you are concerned about length and loft, PXG will custom spec for free.  I ordered my 0211DC 1/2 inch shorter and decreased all lofts by 1 degree. Shipped to Canada 3 days after I placed my order. I think they look great and feel fantastic. The XCOR2 in black looks great and all reviews I've seen on the new version have been stellar.

Yeah I think i would deloft these by 1° if I went this route

So I have these and here’s the problem with changing the specs….

These irons are/can be great. Problem is they come with a ton of bounce so decreasing loft by a couple degrees to remove some of the offset or gain a little height makes them even harder to play off of any kind of firm turf. Also they are quite a bit long length wise. I ordered a set 1/2” short and with the Elevate Tour shafts thinking the added weight in the shafts would offset the 1/2” for swingweight purposes. Turns out they came to me at D0. For me that is almost unplayable. I know you can add tip weights but adding 8g in the hosel for me wasn’t something I wanted to do. I have loaded them up with lead tape for a bit to test but having these good looking brand new clubs and then slapping a bunch of lead tape on them isn’t really what I wanted to do. I’m thinking I might return these for the Gen4 P or T’s.

D0 is PXG's standard build weight unless you request something else.

Delofting by 1 degree reduces bounce by one degree. I highly doubt most people would notice this small of a difference. In addition, 1/2" difference in length and the corresponding change in SW will be indistinguishable to most folk after one or two range sessions. Most of us (myself included) way overthink these minor changes - especially when most major manufacturers loft, bounce and lie tolerances reside within this range.

I mentioned going 2* weak to take some offset away and yes that would make an already crazy amount of bounce worse. 1/2” of length is around 3 swingweight points which to someone with any amount of feel is definitely noticeable.

What you say is true in some instances but there are some iron sets that have long irons with design characteristics similar to a driving iron — hollow heads, low CG, widish soles, thin faces. The 0211 Xcor2 4 iron is not the same as a 0311 T 4 iron.

For some people, and I am one, a standard iron looks better from address off the ground. I don’t care for the bulky soles on most driving irons. In terms of performance, it is often a distinction without a difference — a 20 degree driving iron and a 20 degree 0211 XCor2 might give you the same performance, but you might prefer one over the other. I would not say a driving iron is necessarily a better choice, or an iron from a set, it really depends on the iron and the player. I would rate the 0211 as a good candidate as an option for players who don’t care for driving irons, similar to those who like the Srixon Zx4 or Zx5 more than the Srixon driving irons.

Did just that with a Cobra F9 4i. Worked great as a driving iron. As good as the UDI I use to own.

So the 0211 Xcor2 4 irons has been working great as 3 iron for my 0311ST set. I wish the MMT shaft was slightly heavier though. At times it just feels slightly too light.

Personally I never actually understood the craze about driving irons.. so they are a little lower flight than hybrid, but higher flight and more forgiving than a normal long iron, right? Regardless, it's working nicely for what I wanted it for.
