Also the PXG’s are longer shaft length wise too than the pings. .  37.5” PXG 7i vs g425 37”.

the stronger lofts and 1/2” longer length pretty much account for the gains above between the two irons.

the 0211s are hollow body irons too. Should have a little more ball speed than the cavity back pings.

Yes, I hit them both and there’s no big difference once specs are accounted for. PXG also used the standard loft on the Ping 425 (30 degrees) but it can be ordered from Ping in power spec at 28.5 degrees.

The extra half-inch shaft length, which basically makes the PXG 7 iron a 6 iron in length (matters more than loft in terms of control IMO), and it’s more or less a wash between the two on distance. Both super easy to hit. You can dial in either set and I wouldn’t choose one over the other based on ball speed marketing. I didn’t find the 0211 hotter when both are middled — the 425 is plenty lively — but the 0211 might preserve ball speed better across the face on bad mishits. I’m not that much of a wanderer, more of a low on the face thin miss. These both help on that miss.

I prefer the head shape of the 0211. Indeed, it’s my favorite head shape of the PXG lineup. It has a different look from the others. And it feels good. Not harsh at all. It’s a very nice iron. The only thing I don’t like is the blingy trim on the back but there’s not too much of it. Taking nothing away from the 425 (honestly, the i230 is the Ping iron I find exciting!) but for $99 a stick, the 0211 XCOR2 is a lot of golf club.

Anyone have pics of the W next to 7 next 4 or 5 iron?

is like to see just how much of a progressive set this is?   Is the 4 or 5 iron too nasty looking with offset? And blade length?

does the W or 8 iron looks much more like a scoring club with shorter blade length and less offset?

thanks.

I don't have pics (I'm sure Google has them) but I played with my buddy & his wife and his wife just got the new 0211s in black.  I was really impressed with how they look at address (I hate the back badging but whatever).  The pitching wedge looks like a scoring club with less offset & shorter blade length.  I was surprised how small it was.  As an 0311T player, the only thing I found offensive was being able to see the back of the 5-iron because the loft is so strong.  I don't know why they even make a 4-iron in this set.  She didn't have one and I suspect hardly anyone will buy it.  The target player has no business hitting a 19 degree iron.

RE: offset, the 5-iron is 0.200" and it progressively reduces down to 0.060".  For context, the 0311P 5-iron offset is 0.190" and the PW offset is 0.050".  Pretty much the same.

Does anyone know if the blade length on the 0211 XCor's is the same, shorter, longer than the 0211 DC? ... a friend has the DC's and I always thought they looked huge.

Never thot I'd consider PXG (don;t like the screws) but the reviews on the XCors are great and the pricing is very attractive.

I have the original 0211’s (my sons set), I also own the Gen3 P’s and the new Xcor2’s. I have also seen the 0211DC…comparing all of them you are correct that the DC are bigger…but the previous ones I mentioned are all smaller. My Xcor2 & P’s are near identical in size with my eye thinking the Xcor2 are smaller (prob the black finish on them vs the silver on the P’s).  The og 0211 also look near identical to the P’s. Hope that helps

I was able to hit my new set this evening.  My 0211 XCOR's 5-G are replacing Gen3 0311P's 4-W.  The gapping is better for me than the P's, even though most of the irons are about half a club stronger.  I switched from a 50, 54, 60 wedge set to a 52, 56, 60.  So now with the 0211 Gap wedge, everything fits a little better at the bottom and the top.

I went with an S flex vs the X in the previous set. I am not getting younger.  The new heads paired with the S flex lighter shaft makes it easier to hit these high.  They are so easy to launch compared to my Gen3's or anything else I have hit for that matter.  Solid shots may feel better than my Gen3s even though they were forged and these aren't.  Mis hits were noticeably better, especially thin shots.

I didn't take them on the course, but I put them through their paces hard on the range.  They definitely launch higher and were easier to hit.  They do not want to curve much.  The Gen3 is much easier to intentionally work the ball, but that isn't a big deal for me as I would prefer the ball to fly straight and these fly straighter than the Gen3 Ps.  When I tried to move them hard they just wanted to go mostly straight.  Especially when I tried to turn them over.  I didn't hook a single shot even though I was trying to move it hard.

Overall my expectations were exceeded.  I will be anxious to see how they fly on the course, to see how consistent  the distances are and how easy or difficult they are to flight.  I like to flight my short irons down some at times so I am can't wait to see how these fly.

The Gen3 Ps were my favorite set I have ever owned.  These 0211 I believe are going to be even better.

They are. I’ve had mine since the Black Xcor2 came out. Only played a handful of rounds before my season ended, but they are even easier to hit and just want to go high, straight at the target. Feel isn’t quite as good as the Gen3…but when both hit out of the center hard to tell difference. I also think they are identical in size to the Gen3’s

Love the black version. Been playing the Gen 4 Xtreme Darks and I honestly don't think I'll ever play another set of Chrome clubs.

Got my wife into the 0211 xcor 2 irons. She really likes them! I am intrigued too…

Anyone here have PXG do a really out-of-the-norm build? I don’t need exotic shafts or anything but my specs are pretty wild.

I’m looking at 25, 28, and 31 degree hybrids, then 8i thru SW. How odd are the specs I need? The 25 degree hybrid needs to be 42” long….the 8i 39.5”. I’m sure no one here has clubs built this way, but any experience with PXG doing something really non-standard?

Give them a call, worst they can say is they won’t go 3” longer than standard?  They may say that an extreme custom build is non returnable as it might be too difficult to resell in their eBay site?

Yup, I filled out the “contact me” form and will call them after the Monday holiday.

Don’t imagine too many people are having builds done with such unusual specs, but thought I’d see if there is someone else with a crazy setup on here. 😁

Spoke with PXG by phone. Person I spoke with is a PGA (class A I think), absolutely fantastic customer service, friendly and quite knowledgeable.

Long story short, two promised call backs actually occurred, we tweaked a couple of items, and PXG is doing a hybrid and iron set build for me in my REALLY CUSTOM specs. 👍🏻

Will report back when I receive them and get ‘em dirty.

I recently owned the GEN3 P's and XP's and then moved to the GEN5 P's.  Buddy let me hit his XCOR2 0211's and this may sound crazy but I like them better than both the GEN3 models and the GEN5s that I owned.  I like the shape better and the sole especially.  As far as feel I tried hard to tell a difference but I just can't...if anything I like the XCOR2 feel better.  It is every bit as soft feeling as the GEN5 P's.  If you have not hit these irons you need to....and don't be afraid of the strong lofts.....I was hitting the 28* 7 iron higher than I have ever hit 34* 7 irons that I have had in the past.  I am absolutely blown away by these irons.

I will agree that the Xcor2 are just as good…but I can still feel the difference between them and the Gen3 P’s I have. The gen3 feel slightly softer and have a soft/mushy feel (a good thing to me) where the Xcor2 have a soft/explosive feel. Hard to describe the last one but it’s a different soft yet explosive feel.

Dove into the 0211 XCOR2 pool last night.

Their ebay store had a gently used 7-P,G,S,L set with the Elevate MPH 95 shaft which when trimmed is 90g.  Great for a slower swinger, slow tempo guy like myself.  I am currently gaming 6-UW G425 Retro specs so my 6i is 28.3* and the 7i in the 0211 is 28*.

I was pleasantly surprised.  Not only do they look great but the sound/feel off these are really good for a cast iron club.  I would have thought they were forged had I not known.

I have been struggling as of late to hit a draw with my Ping 6 and 7i but right out of the gate a nice high baby draw with the 7i on down through the wedges.

I am not sure I would replace my normal SW and LW for set wedges but after hitting some with 3/4 swings they will definitely get a shot at making the bag.

I am hoping to get over to an indoor sim place Friday to compare both sets and get gaps and numbers shorted out...but initial impressions, they really were solid
