WTF is he on about?  It’s harder than ever to win.  Some seem to confuse lower ranked players winning events as proof it’s “easier” than ever to win.  I would argue the opposite that it shows how difficult it is to win.  The closer the lower ranked players are to the top players the more difficult it becomes for anyone to win.  Look at the scores today and in most events.  Seemingly near a dozen guys within just a few strokes of each other.  Today it was a four way tie for second…just one stroke back.  Easy my Word not allowed.

Another sign of an individual desperately trying to stay relevant in golf. HH doesn't realize his 15 minutes of fame expired around 1,000 hours ago.

Taken literally? HH was just as irrelevant 1,000 hours ago then as he is now. Outside of being literal I'm sure you can figure out the parallel I was making. Hopefully a further explanation isn't required. Regards.

HH is a scorned clown that lost all credibility years ago. A phrase like "the corrupt golf media" really tells you all you need to know about this clown.

Google trends long term US chart, June data looks like it’s included 

 

So, the 2023 high is 75% lower than 2022

 

And the 2024 high so far looks 30% lower than 2023

 

Compare to the pga tour chart which shows very solid interest ebbing and peaking at about the same level year to year

I think that Richard Bland should give the 54League a significant bump in the ratings, Something the Rahm signing couldn't do.. IMO😄

Task vs search. In many cases the goal is hybrid. Google search already uses AI algorithms heavily, it’s the backbone, so Google Search is at no disadvantage 

 

The two can compete internally for users, best case scenario for Google, 

 

Either way, all the data keeps getting dumped into good old

Yeah, I hear you. I'm like you. When I'm WFH, I'll have the PGAT on in the background while I'm working. I'm really not even "watching" it; it's background noise. On the weekend I'll watch it if I have nothing else going on, such as actually being on the golf course playing golf. Or the multitude of family/kid stuff that's always happening. If I'm home and available, I tune in, which thankfully MOSTLY works out for the leaders on Sundays. But it's hard at my stage in life to make it appointment viewing--even for the majors. I'm just too busy otherwise.

 

But there's a whole group that's the opposite of us--the retirees. They don't have to work M->F. They don't want to play golf on the weekends because it's too crowded and expensive. They don't want to run errands on the weekend, because that's when all of us working folks are out doing it, and again it's crowded. My FIL is like this--he plays golf twice a week, but not on the weekends. On the weekends, he's kicking back in the recliner watching golf. Heck, I look forward to doing the same when I'm his age 😉 

 

This IMHO is one of the reasons--among many--that I think LIV with the idea that they're trying to seek out this mythical "younger demographic" is misguided. They're the ones, like us, that find the weekends the absolutely hardest time of the week to devote to watching golf. They're too busy doing fun stuff because they've been at work all week.
