Yeah and the next iteration of the driver will be "100X BETTER & 20 YARDS LONGER" than the "old model", which rubs salt in the wounds even more.

I feel like this thread gets started earlier every year. I haven’t seen any prototypes on tour yet, which is usually the sign for a release. Taylormade could just be having supply chain issues.

Don’t feel bad for me because of that. I’ve made that money back and then some with that driver. The reason you should feel bad for me is that the driver has complicated the relationship between my Venmo account and the IRS.

I really don’t understand this perspective. No one has ever bought a driver thinking that it’s the final iteration that will never be improved upon. Especially here where a lot of people go through 5 per year. 
 

You are ready for a refresh, you buy the best thing available at the time. You know there will likely be improvements to that product in mere months.

When was the last time TaylorMade made any such distance claims in their marketing?  And even when the did in the past, it was never against the previous model - it was always about a 5 year old model, which hits on about the cycle that the average golfer gets a new driver.

 

Us folks on golf forums aren't the average consumer.  They aren't marketing towards people that go through 4 drivers in 2 years.

 

And why doe golf companies get s*** but no other industry deals with it nearly as much.

 

New phones come out every year

new TVs come out every year

New cars come out every year

Etc Etc

 

Nobody has a gun to your head making you upgrade if you do not see a benefit TO YOU

I've played SIM>SIM2>Stealth+, Stealth+ is the best iteration so far.  If it cracks in 6 months, they'll send me a Stealth2 which will likely be better.  I don't understand the issue.

Can we please get off this comment in every Taylormade driver post?  Taylormade has 1 driver release every year and have for many, many years now.  They released the Stealth, Stealth+ and Stealth HD back in Jan/Feb and won't release the new model until probably the exact same time next year.  This is the same as every other OEM out there except the companies that run on a 2+ year release cycle such as Titleist, Ping, etc.  COVID messed up some of the more traditional release cycles but NO ONE is releasing drivers "every six months" and especially not TM.

The answer is easy, but not going to be popular.  The type of consumer that relays this sentiment, and its a popular one here, are overtly entitled.  They somehow think that because they bought a product, the OEM should stop attempting to innovate and/or make earnings, and they should wait to release new product until they feel they've gotten THEIR moneys worth out of it.  It's the apex of a spoiled brat throwing a fit.

Speaking of the RBZ (original), the Stealth was finally a good enough club to kick the RBZ out of the bag. The SLDR was horrible and the Sims couldn't do it either and man did I want one. Still not sure the Stealth is longer than the RBZ but it is more forgiving.
