Yet she gets the majority of the on-air coverage when nowhere near being in contention.

Just ridiculous.

Lexi got the largest following each day in Toledo. The difference in the number of people following her is very large.

When I've talked with friends that don't pay attention to women's golf, they only seem to recognize two current names: Lexi and the Korda sisters.

We were able to get entrance to the private Tuesday practice rounds and spent some time following Brooke Henderson, Madelene Sagstrom and Lauren Hartlage as well as some other groups and several singles. We had an interesting experience with the Henderson/Sagstrom/Hartlage group. I told a few golf friends the story and none had ever heard of Brooke Henderson. They didn't even seem to care that she is top 5 or that she just won a major!

Clearly Lexi, her agents, or the LPGA has done a good job of promoting Lexi.

The fight for CME Top-80 intensified:

#78       Annie Park                              268.230

#79       Emily Kristine Pedersen        268.083

#80       Frida Kinhult                          263.613

#81       Yealimi Noh                            258.890

#82       Perrine Delacour                   254.995

Annie is toast but at least she will finish top 100.

I'm pretty sure Lucy wasn't thrilled with less than a win. Solid week, but she couldn't buy a putt.

It's the same as Yealimi Noh when she led by three with four holes to go at 2019 Portland Classic; she couldn't buy a putt during that stretch.

It's understandable what pressure and expectation can do to human's psyche!

I didn't sense any nerves in Lucy. She seemed pretty composed out there. A couple of errant shots, but it boiled down to her putter. She had a handful of good looks at birdie, but nothing was falling.

Yeah, when the rain slowed the the greens it caught a few players who were rolling it much better during the fast conditions. Lydia and Lucy both had 30 putts and Brooke while not the model of great putting had 32 when she had 27-28 the rounds before.  Overall I thought Lucy looked fine, but that's the difference from the Epson, here 3 good rounds and a decent round won't get it done on the LPGA most weeks

I couldn’t help but wonder if there was tension between Carlotta and Gabi and their respective caddies.

Carlotta’s caddie this year (Alvaro) was Gabi’s last year.

I think there’s some romantic entanglements somewhere.

Alvaro cleaned Gabi’s golf ball in one of the closing holes, and they seemed cold as ice to each other

Gaby Lopez seems to have little to no personality..unless that is just her gameface...

She is very businesslike on the course but nicely animated and personable after the round. Of course, I had the advantage because she had seen me walking and talking with her dad for several holes. He was following her at Orlando a few years ago and happened to stop next to me alongside the green on #4. I mentioned that it was the first time I had seen Gabby play in person. He was very surprised to hear that.

Gabby went on to win that event in a lengthy playoff. I hate to admit that despite having a nice conversation with her dad I didn't begin that playoff rooting for Gaby. I was rooting for Inbee, after spending two days walking alongside her former high school golf coach and his wife. Inbee went to high school in Orlando then played collegiately at UNLV.

Once Inbee was eliminated I rooted for Gabby against Nasa Hataoka.

I wonder how many others are sponsored by Aramco?

Certainly plenty play their events.

It's ripe for the picking, isn't it?

A recent GolfSaudi PR announcement mentions Chiara Noja, Anna Nordqvist, Anne Van Dam and Carlota Ciganda. (https://agif.asia/2022/08/golf-saudi-unveils-new-international-ambassador/  )

An April 2022 article mentions a longer list of sponsored players/ Aramco Team Series ambassadors.  https://ten-golf.com/en/news/aramco-team-series-expands-to-asia-for-new-2022-season-on-the-ladies-european-tour/

"A number of international players have also been confirmed as Aramco Team Series Ambassadors promoting women’s golf to global audiences alongside Golf Saudi. Players will wear a mix of front of hat and sleeve sponsorship at all participating tournaments.

Two-time major winning golfer Anna Nordqvist was announced among the inaugural ambassadors last year with Camilla Lennarth and Amy Boulden. The trio are now joined by Alison Lee (USA), Anne van Dam (NED), Emily Pedersen (DEN), Carlota Ciganda (SPAIN), Bronte Law (ENG), Lindsey Weaver-Wright (USA), Olivia Cowan (GER), Pauline Roussin Bouchard (FRA) and Marianne Skarpnord (NOR). Australia’s Steph Kyriacou is confirmed as an Aramco Team Series sponsor as well."

First off, if the LPGA was smart ( but they won't be and will listen to everyone's anti-LIV talk) they would embrace LIV.  The LPGA is not the PGA and could use the financial boost.  Plus with so many holes in the schedule, they can use events.  The LPGA could partner up with LIV and have 6-8 event series (whatever format they like) run like regular events with prize money and give points for position but LIV likes to throw around money so after the event series have a 20 million dollar prize pool split between the top 30 players who earned the most points during the series.

Then to improve the PR add an ask that X millions will be invested in Saudi Aribia girls athletics programs and other women programs.  This would be a big ask as this would be the Saudi government decision and not the vanity project of some rich Prince with a portfolio.  But everybody likes good PR, so maybe.

I don’t see how the Saudis can claim to support women’s golf, yet oppress women so much in their society.

“Yes, let’s support women’s golf. But don’t forget we behead women wearing shorts in our country”

It doesn’t make sense

Fair enough, then the "Purity Test" applies to everybody.  I'm good with it but no more China anything than.  Their treatment of the Uyghur's is very well document and is "just as" but probably more atrocious that the Saudi's.  If that's the way everybody wants it again I'm fine with it but sadly the best way to shine a light on hypocrisy is with money or who has the access to said money lol
