I will say that whoever gripped them didn’t seem to slide/push the grip the full amount - they’re a little stubby compared to my other Crosslines. Can’t wait to get these to the range.

I wasn’t thrilled with the grip installation either. One was definitely not set down the whole way and some twist/alignment on two others but it’s probably nitpicky, and in a season or

two the grips will be replaced anyway.

It’s not nitpicky, it’ll probably continue to bug you until you replace them. Might be worth a casual word in passing with your store, I’m sure Cobra will send them a couple of grips to make it good. 
 

Good to see Beef back with the Tours in the bag too. Seems as if a lot of pros are using the Tours, which makes me wonder why I’m considering a CB/MB combo. Sadly, I’m getting too old for “Because they’ll look good in the bag, you dimwit”.

Cobra is a little subpar on their builds in my experience. Bought a putter new directly from their site, it came in with a dent on the face and the grip was on crooked.

I hit the CBs extensively today along with the JPX 923 tour. Both of these irons are unreal looking, was getting about 175 on each with the seven iron. 
 

I actually think the Cobras may have felt a little better than the Mizunos, although both felt damn near identical. 
 

tough choice between these two and the 620 CB, may have to go Cobra .

Picked mine up from my fitter this morning (2nd Swing). They ended up putting the Crossline grips on instead of the UTX we wanted. Swing weights were decent around however there were a few inconsistencies (like the GW was D3, but the PW was D1.5 and 9 was like D2). Not a huge deal but i may put on some lead tape or decide to rebuild them with some nicer ferrules once those come in. Ideally I like a slight progression from D2 to D3 from 5 to GW if I can help it.

Just got back from my first range session with the Tour (5/6)/CB (7-Pw) combo. It was a scorching 41° F, but that wasn’t going to stop me. Haven’t swung a club much since the season ended aside from a gap wedge in the garage the past week in preparation for the new irons.

CB’s feel like a dream out of the middle of the face. Tours feel just a slightly springier, but still solid. I’ll need to get on a launch monitor in the next couple months but I didn’t come away with any distance concerns. No complaints with regards to turf interaction - it was very soggy, but not muddy, and the soles got through nicely.

 

A comment about the soles: some pictures in this thread make them look bigger than they are IMO. I’m coming from 223’s and don’t think the Cobra’s look as beefy as those did (I don’t have them anymore to compare). Just wanted to call out that out in case anyone was turned off by the photos.

The soles really aren’t as big as I thought they’d be once I saw them in hand. Maybe it just looks that way relative to the pretty small blade length?

Man, those look sleek! I love my RF Coppers, but I could see those in my bag in a heartbeat! Can't wait to get someplace and hit them! That's got to be about the best looking CB I've seen!

How did you end up bending to get the set to flow between Tour 6i at 28* and CB 7i at 34*?

I ordered the Tours 1* weak. Was originally thinking 1* weak in the 5i and 2* weak in the 6i, but figured I'd start with 1* then do a gapping session. No further updates as I've only hit them once at the range, but I could see weakening the 6i a little more.

Yeah, I would have guessed 2* weak in both the tour 5 and 6 to essentially match the CBs. 

 

Or 1* weak in the tours and 1* strong in the CB 7-PW to create 26/29/33/37/41/45

I am going to go with 1 degree weak on Tour, 1 degree strong on CB

Update: Ordered 5-6 Tour and 7-9 CB w/ KBS C-Taper Lite X

I did a True Spec fitting and they only had the CB and MB heads to test.  I had pretty ideal numbers with the CBs and decided to pull the trigger on them.  I am having the same thoughts about tour players using the Tours and wondering if I made a mistake.  Waiting on my order to come in for the CBs with the DG S400s...

what were you’re thoughts on the MB vs CB? Noticeable drop in forgiveness?

I am gonna test my Tour set out on Sunday on the course. I have put on some lead tape on a few of the irons to get them to a consistent SW. Hitting them off the mats has been great and they are definitely performing better than my T100s irons did. Will report back after my round!

I was able to test out the Tours and CBS. First of all the Tours look absolutely fantastic, it reminds me of a Mizuno mixed with the Nike or Callaway iron design that had a lot of grooves, which I don’t have a problem with. The sole was slightly bigger than I was expecting, but a clean looking cavity. I preferred the Tours over the CBS.

 

One issue was my ballspeed was slightly down compared to some other irons I hit, probably 2-4 mph slower than the Srixon ZX7s. I wasn’t trying to find the longest possible iron, but I was curious with variation across the face. Nitpicking a bit, yes, but when it’s about $300 more for a set compared to the Srixons, that’s ok.

I’d also like to see the PW and 8 iron Tours at address.

 

P-8 in the CB (bending 1° strong) and 7-4 in the tours is tempting, but maybe I just go all tours…

Are you comparing CBs vs ZX7 or Tour vs ZX7? I ask because the CB is 34* for a 7iron and the ZX7 is 32. If its the CB vs ZX7 you will get less ball speed with higher loft. 

 

I tested the Tour vs the ZX7 mkii and the Tour won in ball speed and performance and forgiveness for me.
