His putting has been horrific this year, losing -0.22 strokes on the greens the past 3 months.

That’s not for a full year.  In the full 2022 season using Spider X he was 16th on tour, best of his career.

Exactly my point.  Kwaino was quoting 2022 stats also.  Rory was never a good putter with Cameron.  Spider X made him elite.

No I was quoting his stats over the past 3 months. Rory was not playing a PGA Tour event on December 21st.

 

The fact is he's 173rd in putting this season, and that is with a win in October. You've never changed putters when you started putting bad?

Taylormade can’t be happy with him using Titleist wedges and putters. They literally can make him anything he would want by milling wedges and putters to his exact preferences. There has to be smoke here that he’s looking for a reason to go elsewhere.

Rory has never been an elite putter regardless of the tool he used. If he was an elite putter he would have twice the amount of wins he has.

He was last year.  Spider X even helped bad putter Sergio win a major.  When DJ switched from Cameron to Spider X his putting dramatically improved.  Honestly don’t like how they look but the performance and feel are very good.

He was unbelievable last year, 16th in putting is no joke.

 

Reality is, he's actually better in approach this season so far (8th), a hair worse off the tee (3rd last season, 6th so far this season), and has plummeted in putting. A small sample sure, but something had to change. He's putting worse than JT this year!

Yes, he had a great year last year. No doubt, Spider has helped tons of players improve. With him I don’t think it’s the tool, it’s the guy attached to it.

Didn’t he win his 4 Majors with Cameron and Nike Putters, he’s 173rd in putting on Tour at the moment, his putting stroke is more suited to this type of putter , too much Toe hang with the slant neck Spider,
