2024 mizuno MP iron range

My pro is deciding to bring in Mizuno or Srixon this year. I hope it’s Mizuno although I currently game ZX5/7’s.

I suppose that’ll do quite nicely! Off topic, I get a kick at the green being set at 350 but the club was set to iron. I mean, give the tester some accuracy feedback by putting the green at their average carry. Sorry, bit of a pet peeve of mine.

I could have changed it. I just don’t care. I was the sim operator.. so it is only me to blame.

I hit them all. 245, 243, 241

Just hit the fitting head 7 irons. But the 243s have something going on. I thought they felt the best and looked great and still had some good pop to them.

I honestly love the shape of the 245s. It’s a great size. They produced a pretty low spin ball. For me that could come in handy as I tend to over spin. The 243 honestly feel the best of them all. But i liked the shape of the 245s more. At least in the 7 iron. As that is all I saw.

Glad they're working for you though. I just had to move on. Thankfully, there's a lot of great equipment and choices out there. Just looking forward to these. 

 

TP5 is my ball, so yeah spins enough for me.  We're all different so like you said if something doesn't work you just move on.

This is killing me. I played the MP-18SC’s until March of 2023.  When I was fit my best results where ZX, T100s, and 225.  Still think the 18SC’s felt better through the turf.  Can’t wait to hit these.

I love my 243’s. Such as well rounded set.

Those that say fliers aren’t a thing with hollow bodied irons or these recent tech filled irons are hilarious.  223s 100% had fliers and these 245s look like Mizuno didn’t take any notes on what went wrong for better ball strikers.  A forged cavity with all this extra tech is a miss imo.  Was really hoping they would provide something in the mp18 sc wheelhouse, but I digress…the new Wilson cb line does look great but I know Mizuno will suck me back. Just don’t know to what 😂 JPX 923T maybe

The Spin issue is exactly my concern.......I don't need high spin, but low spin would be a killer

Regardless of the ball I use

I am not seeing overly low spin. And these were hit with a low spin ball.

JPX 923 Tour is absolutely their best "pure forged" option these days besides the MB.  That's why most pros use them, and the one's that don't use the MB's.  Ladies and Men from what I have seen.  They remind me of the Artisan CB irons if you are familiar which is a major compliment.

5600 is pretty low for a 7 iron.  My 225s were at 6000 but launched at 20 degrees (which is fairly high).

I agree that is pretty low. But, I think you also have to look at the decent angle that is almost at 50 degrees. Plus, it was with a low spin ball. So that opens you up to play a ball with more spin and not lose anything. To me, where I sometimes struggle with overspin, I like that prospect.

I agree and play the 923T. Will be checking the 241 out in scoring irons, and maybe will blend them in.

A couple were 6300. The 5600 was just strike and that happens. For what's effectively a 6 iron that lands at 50º, those are awesome numbers.
