Actually a pretty standard 6 lol. Good point!

This is why I ordered a set 4-pw 1/2”long to play like a 3-9 with a 48 deg T22 pw😁

I agree that is pretty low. But, I think you also have to look at the decent angle that is almost at 50 degrees. Plus, it was with a low spin ball. So that opens you up to play a ball with more spin and not lose anything. To me, where I sometimes struggle with overspin, I like that prospect.

I played the I230 last year but switched back to the 225s in the end of the year.  Great sticks.  The only issue I have with the 225s is my own ego.  Every once in a while I hit that low spin bullet 7 iron that goes 190 and it takes me two rounds to realize the stick 175 is the better swing.

Another option would have been to get 4-PW in standard length because with the strong lofts and hot faces, at +1/2" they may go too far creating too big a gap to your 48 degree PW, hopefully you like them and they fit your game well.

I suppose that’ll do quite nicely! Off topic, I get a kick at the green being set at 350 but the club was set to iron. I mean, give the tester some accuracy feedback by putting the green at their average carry. Sorry, bit of a pet peeve of mine.

Non-issue. The only accuracy feedback you need is if you look at the average distance offline, and then from a pattern perspective if you have a two-way miss.

I Think I'm going 5-GW, to play like my 4-9 and just play 2 gap wedges - the set GW and my 52º. This is where the problem arises in moving from blades to rockets. I don't think I need the 4i, but maybe? I don't know. I'm going to go hit the 7-iron and I guess we'll have to gauge it from there.

But it’s still a pet peeve of mine even if you dismiss it. The green on Foresight Range is roughly 30 yards wide by 20 yards deep. Average offline can be wonky if the dispersion pattern is a mix of left and right shots. I find, the customer appreciates the feedback they get by the dots scattered around the flag on the green. It allows them to judge the quality of their ball striking better than a bunch of balls around a center line. We can then analyze the good shot data by selecting a ball by the flag individually.

I don’t know, I’m new to fitting. Loads to learn still. Like I said, my pet peeve.

The Spin issue is exactly my concern.......I don't need high spin, but low spin would be a killer

Regardless of the ball I use

You’re getting way too hung up on the spin numbers in your posts. 5600 off of a mat with a low spin golf ball is perfectly acceptable for a 30 degree club. With a Pro V1X outdoors off grass that could easily be close to if not up to 7000rpm.

The general rule is 10% on grass vs mats.

so 6200rpm at 48-50* land angle outside with his numbers are very easy to play.

Honestly, it's been a while since I hit the 790's and I haven't even seen the 245's. @QuigleyDU might have some comparisons for you.

Smaller in size, more solid, less springy feel off the face.

The the 245 feel so much better and are more compact. They are probably closer in size to the 770s.

From my own testing, I think this number is closer to 15-20%. This is using a GCQuad off different matts. Delivery might also play a role here of course, but I've consistently seen 4800-5000 spin numbers off mats and 6000-6400 on turf with the same setup.

Saw the 241 and 243 fitting irons yesterday.

Look WAY BETTER than the black and white conforming photos. Actually I haven't seen a photo do them justice yet.

Feel like the 243s might be in my future.

Very glad to hear that.  I’ll be getting 243’s regardless but in all the pics they look chunky.  I know in person they’ll look better.

depends on the quad and if you’re using dots on the clubface or not. I wouldn’t disagree with you, but 20% is probably close to a stretch. I’d say 10-15% is a great estimate

I’ve spent about an hour with the 243 and 245. The 245 looks much better than the 243 in person, especially if you’re a back of the clubface headcase. The feel was exceptional on both, the 243 at 1* weak will be a great option for lower spin guys who still need height, or standard lofts for guys that are steep and spin it a bit more. The 245’s are basically P770 and P790 killers. If you hit the 245, don’t hit them next to either TM offerings as you’ll quickly realize how poor the TM versions feel, and you’re leaving 100% with the 245’s in hand.

Totally agree.. I said back in the summer the 245's are going to be the star of this new lineup... coming from a blade guy that is saying something.  I think they have a winner with these which is no surprise considering it is Mizuno.

I think Mizuno cracked the code for making a hollow body iron feel good. Makes sense with their investment in tuning clubs for harmonics and vibration. Interesting that they don't need any foam or rubber in the heads either.

Anybody know how a 243/245 combo may compare to a zx7/zx5 combo set?

currently play zx7 Pw-7i and zx5 6I-4i.  All in px 6.5, +1”.

No need to combo those.

243 is built as a combo set based on the tech.

245 is built as a standalone set unless combo with the 241

They are the smallest blades I have seen of anything new Gen. I stayed away given their size

Smaller than Blueprint and Cobra MBs?? There is simply no need to go to that size outside of some very unique personal preferences. MP5, P7TW, and Srixon Z forged had a lot of fans because of their larger size (for an MB).

Tough to say. Blueprint S looks incredible in hand, but more squared off lines vs the 241’s. The RF Blades are probably the only ones I can’t think of smaller.
