It's not real Stableford scoring, it's modified scoring, here is real Stableford scoring:

No idea. I think it was a temporary thing anyway, as Brad is Inbee's regular caddie.

For Round 1, the pro plays to 6,605 yards and the junior 6,364 yards.  Six holes had different tees, #3, 7, 8, 11, 15, 16.

A young lady I know, Macy Pate, is playing in the AJGA part of the tournament. She is graduating a year early, so she can play at Wake Forest next fall.  Great player, and a great kid. Shot a 57 in a high school tournament.

If you dig enough, you'll find lots of Wake Forest connections in this tournament from players, caddies, coaches, etc.

A girl from my NJ country club, Katie Li, is playing in the AJGA section. She shows up as +5.4 in GHIN! For the last 3 years she's been on the driving and putting range just about every day late afternoon during golf season. Committed to play for Duke next year. Seems like the Stableford scoring system incentivizes them to just go for all or nothing. She had no bogeys yesterday, all birdies, pars, 2 doubles and a triple. 

Both Duke and Wake Forest in NC have a golf course adjacent to their campuses.

I’m so thankful Rose played in this tournament. Outside of her, I think I maybe saw 5 golf shots from other pros. Heck, I saw more views of Manhattan skyline than pro’s golf shots. 
 

The broadcast did show Rose’s round quite a bit. So I guess there was some golf in yesterday’s broadcast.

Jeeno and Minjee are having good rounds today and are at and near the top of the leaderboard, so maybe some of that will be on TV. Rose doesn't start playing till 15 minutes before Golf Channel coverage ends today. Will they have cameras to follow Rose's range and putting green sessions from 12 to 12:45, and commentators to discuss in depth how she might be feeling before the round, and what her strategy for the first hole will be?

We're seeing a log jam around the cut-line, which led me to think about the decision of any pro to play this event.

 

On the one hand you have a reduced pro cut player number of 50 + ties (to fit the ams into the field after R2) so obviously more difficult to make the cut but a beefier than typical purse of $2.75m so if you back yourself and make the cut you can earn a few more $ than typical.

 

I can see why some pros skip this, especially considering the full schedule over the coming weeks/months incl the remaining majors, but if you make the cut and finish high you get a nicer prizemoney reward.

Quite amazing the turn around from yesterday for a number of players. Crazy game. 

 

Jin Young having a nice 5 under round through 8 holes. I'm curious if one can find her old putter somewhere in the vicinity of Liberty Island. Pretty sure she heaved it overboard on the scenic ferry ride back to Manhattan after yesterday's round. Lol.

Even Gina Kim shot 9 shots better today, granted the bar was set pretty low, shooting an 82... Pauline already +11 thru 15 holes today, they must have swapped courses from yesterday 😂

No, hrs of lots of practice on the putting green w your coach after yr round will help immensely.

Lol. The fake sounds of balls hitting clubs crack me up at times. Lydia is hitting an iron into the 17th, and the GC plays the sound of a hybrid. At least the timing was spot on. Love when the sound leads the ball strike by a second.

At last check, 12 groups remained on course.

 

Per tournament radio, restart is expected to resume for maybe 30mim playing time.

Range opened at 7:20 for players Restarted at 7:30p

 

Restart sat originally schedule for 9:30am will be earlier.

 

Late fri update:

Alll LPGA finished and 1.5h remain for ajga jrs when horn sounded for darkness.

 

After talking w tournament leadership, 3rd round starts at 9:22am.

I usually don't care for anything on the broadcast other than coverage of the actual golf, but I did kinda enjoy Tom Abbott talking to a number of players on the range and also on the ferry.  He's not the smoothest interviewer but you have to love his attitude and the players all seemed to be very comfortable talking to him on camera.

Stacked leaderboard.  Excluding Nelly, many of the best over the recent years (ie consistently a top player) came to play.  Plus Rose Zhang 2 back in her first start as a pro.  Hope for a good finish...

I would also say it's a big weekend for Minjee.  Both to avenge the final round at the Cognizant and notwithstanding her stretch from the 2021 Evian - 2022 USWO, it seems like she's never really played her best in tight situations (against other top players).  Coming out on top over the next 36 holes could do a lot for the confidence.
