The turf interaction is what surprised me from the start.  No issues with interaction and launching the ball. Quite frankly, the turf interaction was sublime.  Typically I struggle with low-trajectory but no issues getting these up in the air. The original Blueprint and I didn’t get along at all.

My initial set is like yours, kept my i230 5-6 iron, then 7-W in the blueprint.  After about 15 minutes with 7-W, I immediately put the order in for 5-6 iron.

I’ve not posted any data/spin numbers as I was on turf - indoor, but planning Friday to drag the trackman out the grass to fully compare i230 w/ Blueprint - S

Will second the phenomenal turf interaction with these. They are so quick  thru the grass and just feel lovely.

Very interesting and reassuring. I’ll be curious to see what the results of my fitting will be and testing more than just the 7i.

Looking forward to seeing the numbers comparison on turf when you get to it.

One of my biggest disappointments over the years for their forged irons/players blades is that they don’t add a U wedge for the public.  Love the U-wedges with i210, i230, and so on

Going through this now. Fully shelved my i230s in favor of the BPS, but have still been using the i230 U-wedge as I have no other 50 degree option. Currently scouring the new wedge offerings so I can put my complete i230 set up for sale. It’ll be the first time I haven’t used a set gap wedge in quite a while and it feels a little weird.

I ended up ordering a s159 50* with the same setup/shaft as irons and hope it works well.

I love a ping u wedge - pretty disappointed that there isn't one , but as above, I went with the 50S and same shaft as irons

Anyone put the Blueprint S head to head with the PXG 0317CB? I'm wondering if the BPS are more forgiving than the 0317CB's?

I like my PXG's but if I can find a more consistent and forgiving setup in a i230/BPS setup I might make the switch over. Also both are higher bounce I guess.

I found the BPs more demanding than my gamer 0317s CBs.  Loved the BPs, just not right for where my game is at.  You could have different results.  Both are amazing clubs.

That's fair, it's odd how clubs are like that. I found the CBs to be more forgiving than the P770 for example.

I'm in a weird spot though, I'm a low-mid teen handicap, trending down. I need forgiveness but also have lots of speed. So need spin/distance control but also want some forgiveness.

Might be something I have to test just curious if anyone else experienced that.

@JourdanM : could you post some comparison pics King Tour vs Blueprint S? I'm in the Tours at the moment, but the S are so nice.... 😅

Thanks a lot in advance!

I have the KTs (may have convinced @JourdanM to own some!  Lol ) and I’ve tested the BP S a fair bit so far.  Actually doing another fitting today with them.
The BP S are are fair bit smaller at address, have different shaping etc.  I suspect its the turf interaction that would be the biggest difference and whether that benefits your game or not.  The KTs are a fat bottom girl.  I suspect the KTs are a bit more forgiving and hotter.

Those pictures are not good for my wallet 😅

Topline and sole a fair bit smaller like @DNice26 mentioned, but blade length seems pretty similar?

I would say the pings are a bit smaller length wise and overall just feel more compact.

^^ This is spot on. The BPS are not small…they just look compact. The sole is narrow but not really narrow. They are smaller but not small. Thin top line but not intimidating. Just a very clean compact head

I spent the day testing these head to head against the i230….same build, same specs…..To put it simply, the Blueprint-S are literally forged S55 irons and might be the holy grail for PING irons.  They blew away the i230 with tighter dispersion, more consistent strikes, incredible feel.  These have take the top spot on my “best ping irons” list circa starting 2003ish.

Blueprint - S

S55

I210

I3+ blade (first set of PING irons)

G2

S55 were my favorite irons ever - just ordered a BPS 5 iron to test out with my mizuno jpx 6-pw...don't want to order the whole set but your post was quite an endorsement. I hated the i230 and didn't like iblade either- ever since s55 feel like the bounce was always too high and sole too wide.

Ok, here are the result regarding spin.  Using brand-new Callaway practice/range balls.  Ran all 4 clubs 7-W) from each set 2x, averaged them out per session, then averaged the two sessions together, deleted the “lowest spinning” mid-hit on each (my miss is slight toe)

i230

w - 7450

9 - 8857

8 - 7367

7 - 6652

BP-S

w - 9350

9 - 9034

8 - 8298

7 - 7713

The BP-S was by far the most consistent, where’s the i230 mishits are very low-spinning, even on good strikes.  This has been an issue over the past 12 months with long-misses.

Very happy I made the change here.

Was this of grass or mats?

I asked cause those s numbers pretty good if they are off grass but high if off mats.

interesting enough, I had the opposite experience.  I was 500 rpms higher with i230 vs bps.

These were oof grass. Using a foresight as someone else had already snagged the trackman

This is the only review I have seen with higher spin of BP-S vs i230, if the shafts were in fact the same.

Interesting, I feel like i230 already pretty low spinning, not sure I would want to go down at all, and then if you couple that with some ball speed gains you’re gonna add 5-10 yards an iron which for me isn’t really desirable. Guess could retro spec them.

I found the i230 to be on the higher end spin compared to its peer group irons.  Not as high as i210, but still relatively high (t100 spin rates).

the bps wasn’t low spin for me, around 6k off mats with a 33 degree 7 iron with when delivering 23-25 degrees of dynamic loft.

Just pulled the trigger on them with Modus 120x for the first time.
2 sessions with the same results was enough to take the chance

That’s awesome.  Pretty much what I saw dispersion wise.  Very little variances in ball speed and spin, almost unbelievably little.

I’m torn between going with the dg 120 x100 and or the modus 120x.  I was told the modus was backorderd.

It's amazing how playable these irons are. They carve up the grass, go where you point them, and you can make the ball do whatever you want. Ping has a winner here.
