Coming from the T150, are the BluePrint S irons going to be noticeably harder to hit? I generally miss toe side…

I’ve hit the bps, 0317 t, and the 0317 cb.  The bps is most similar to a smaller 0317 cb.

compared to 0317 T, it’s going to be smaller, less forgiving, and slightly less ball speed when normalizing for loft and strike.

The BPS is smaller than the CB??

Any shallow sweepers have experience with these? I had i210s that didn't work for me because of the bounce and wide sole. Really want these to work.

I found these a lot better but haven't got my full set outdoors. Sole on the 230 were too wide and too much bounce for me also so I'll report back in hopefully a month. But for testing they were closer to s55 than any I series for me.

Held both yesterday. The BPS is smaller and the offset is also blended better with a more pleasing toe shape. Overall very similar irons obviously but the BPS as a whole package looks better. I would imagine that the long irons also have a bit more pep but I’d have to test side by side.

Is it reasonable to think if you can play the i230 you can play BPS or is there a true division there? Seems like BPS solves a few of i230s issues in the turf interaction and feel departments.

I found them much more demanding on the course.  Loved them, I just didn't have the skills to do them justice.

WE got our fitting heads in yesterday for these as well as the I530 and G730.  I hit all 3 with a small bucket, and it was one of those days I couldn't hit a good shot if you had given me the most forgiving club in the world.

But what I could say is the few that I did hit solid with the BlujePrint S felt better than any PING iron I've ever hit.  I do think on a better day, I'd be able to hit these decently, but I'm thinking I'll more likely go with the I530 set.  It was pretty good as well, much better feel than the I525

It’s reasonable.

i was fortunate to be able to hit bps head to head with i230 off some grass.   I was hitting the ball about normal (not great, not poor).  Generally iron ball striking is the best part of my game.

the bps was great on most shots.  Little lower trajectory , maybe a touch more ball speed and a touch less spin.  I did notice that the ball curved a bit more.  It required a better strike.

The i230 did about 90% of what the bps does, with less precision on the input.  It wants to go a bit higher, and a bit straighter.  On my off days or out of janky lies of poor course conditions it’s going to produce better outcomes for me.    If I played on courses that look like what we see on the pga tour, I might rethink it.

For that reason I swapped my original order to the i230.  My thought is I can always add in a 7-pw of bps down the line if I want.

I had and did love the 230s, but they just spun too much and went too high for me. I've had the blueprints on course twice and on launch monitor and they hit every window and metric I want. Maybe it's the smaller sole for better turf interaction for me, I'm not sure. I'm an 8 so not a great player by any stretch of the imagination. I find the BPS very playable and super accurate and they feel awesome.

The spin and high apex was my only concern with the i230.  I played a set of of i210s and spin(over 1000 x club number) and apex over 130 was challenging in anything other than calm conditions.   The bps and i230 launch and spun similar for me on the day I tested.  I230 was higher, but still playableZ

I had power spec in 230 (and do in BPS) and they went straight, but also straight up in the air. Love how they look and prob the best feeling cast iron I've hit.

but the bps launches a touch lower for me and spins just enough less to where they are just what I'm looking for. They also just sit so nicely at address and make me feel like I'm going to pure every shot (even tho I won't haha)

Finally got my set and played/hit yesterday with them. I went from OG Zx7s which I played for four years, bought a set of 2023 t100 in October of 2023. Both of those sets had TI X100s. I recently switched to project x 6.5s in Pings since my miss is a pull, pretty hard transition so just felt I was amplifying my miss with X100s.

I've been a Ping woods guy for the last four years, hit the G430 LST driver/3 wood, but held out on ping irons since I didn't enjoy them. Until now I can honestly say this is a much more balanced head than the t100. I had trouble in the short irons with the Titleist. I think part of it was sole and bounce, but overall I feel like the weighting and where the mass is in the Pings is positioned better than the Titleist. For whatever reason just could not get used to the Titleist irons. Love the Pings. Stoked for this season of golf.

If you can play the 230, you can play the BPS. Feels like a forged blade, but forgiveness of the 210's (my fave Ping club ever before the OG prints, and now these)

Out of curiosity why not the i230/blueprint s power spec combo?

Haven’t hit the 230 .. I do prefer the 530 aesthetics paired with the BPS

frankly, I want 5 and 6 irons to be hot (less spin for wind) clubs to cover 195 and 205, for my gaps

my 4h is 215 and my 7w is 225 fwiw

Glad to hear you like them! They look so nice. I ordered the i530 4 and 5 in retro spec, need to see how the BPS 5 iron performs in course.

I ended up ordering a s159 50* with the same setup/shaft as irons and hope it works well.

So, after about a week of using the s159 50* wedge with the same shaft/setup as the BPS….not working in my favor. Looks like it’s back to Vokey time.  Still wish they would design a U-wedge, but hard to forecast year in advance as to who/how many would order one.

What’s wrong with it?

Very personal preference, but it’s an outlier.  It didn't swing or feel like the irons, didn’t swing or feel like the rest of my wedges either (vokey).

Had a similar feeling at first. With the same shaft, my BPS PW came out to D3 whereas my s159 50 degree came out to D1.5. Added some lead tape to it and now it feels money and blends much better with the iron set.
