I agree. I was kind of excited for an 11.5 with the jet neck but that's out the window with this release. Had they kept it the same as the previous 2 with a jet net, I 100000% would have bought one.

 

This isn't a dig at you but it's funny when you read the comments. If they don't change much, people complain that it's a rinse and repeat release from Scotty. When they make dramatic changes, people don't like that either.

Straight edges on the perimeter is all I’d take from the new design.

I agree for the most part. I do like the angular milling coming off the top line. Think the "fangs" were better in the last version and I prefer the top line over the dots. For me, the x5.5 is the one that has grown on me. That is the one I will pick up if I don't get the new PLD Tyne. Still waiting close up pics of that.

I agree. So many options out there from so many brands it's hard to make everyone happy, but also staying in your own lane, but also innovating. I think the only thing the masses could agree on at this point is more color/neck/customization options at a fair price. oh and EVERYONE agrees he's got to get away from f*kn velcro headcovers 😆

I hope so, as while its not offensive I wouldn't mind it slimmed down a bit.  A toulon Vegas may be the smallest I can stomache, but the X5 always jars me a little in comparison.  The last model appears slimmer but is same size as always.  I am not personally a fan of the new looks, but it has the same milling as the 7.2 so I'll buy one for feel alone.  Hoping the alignment nonsense is real, just in case it helps at all.

For the life of me, I do not understand how 3 dots on the topline are better than a line. I get the “triangle” on the back, but why the dots on top?

To each their own.  I don’t like lines.  The 3 dots appeal to me and I’ve skipped all of his latest releases because he hasn’t used any dots so I’ll definitely try these out.  No matter what he does there will be people that don’t like it

Picked up the current 9, will look to extend the top line to the front and adapt the cheap velcro cover to decent quiet magnetic closure. Hopefully cheaper way to get what I was hoping for from this release.

Anyone who has recently purchased a Scotty in 34" or 33", do they still come standard with 15-gram weights in the 34" and 20-gram weights in the 33" so the swingweights are the same across the board??  Looking at the new Phantom 7 in 33" and want the heavier head....I'm sure I can request the heavier weights, but if it comes standard, then no need to do that.

Pretty sure 10g weights come in 35", 15g in 34" and 20g in 33".

I was going to either get the 2024 Phantom 5.5 or the 7.5 but the 5.5 is not coming out in Lefty. So it's 2022 Phantom X 5.5 or the 2024 Phantom 7.5. Does anyone know how the new Phantom line feels compared to the previous models?

Good question - I haven't seen much on the material differences, as it seems most of the updates are purely visual.  Interesting that the 5.5 isn't going to be a lefty...I have to imagine its one of the most popular models (given its popularity on the tour).

The grip is a bit weird and takes some getting used to. It is almost like a reverse taper but not quite). Not sure if I am going to keep it on there or not.

I did not take any photos of it, but I seriously considered the 9.5.  I thought I would definitely go with the 5.5, but really liked the alignment on the 9.5.

Stopped into the pro shop at my club tonight to see if my putter was in and it was not. They did get the new ones in but they didn’t put them out yet and custom orders had not arrived yet.
