2024 Scotty Cameron Release

Wow, that a criminally bad release, like going back in time 15 years to the fad of big heads with big gaps. Was just hoping for a slightly updated 9 with a full length site line. Like they’ve made for multiple tour players. Adding holes and double lines, arrows, back to the 3 dots. It’s the opposite of what titleist do with the wedges, just random changes. Odyssey splitting from Toulon opened a future spot in my bag, but this closed the door hard to Scotty.

I think those look pretty nice. Not a fan of the arrow alignment, kind of silly.

 

The 9.5 looks awesome.

9.5 is the best looking one IMO. Love the full length double lines for alignment. I can sit here and say I won’t buy one… but I loved the feel of the double pass milling on the Super Select line so after I pick one of these up and hit some putts… I may end up with one

I agree, would have been in for a 7 with a top line. I understand lefties won’t get every option but why not rotate the options we get so we’re at least happy every couple of releases. I’ll happily save my $500 though.

I don’t know how much of a surprise or not surprising it is, but I just like looking down at a plumbers neck & have waited and waited for a SC regular release 5 or 7 series with that.
I have wanted to give a mallet a try and broke down in the Fall and picked up a TM Spider, which has replaced my SC QB2.

Strange release for sure. Usually grows on me but don't think I'll go out and buy a new one. Kind of like the new 5.5 look from address better, seems to line up nicer to my eye but do prefer the solid line to the dotted one. Scotty never releases what people want unless you buy the $1k plus putters. Still the worst putter headcover velcro of all time with double strap too.

Where is the long plumber neck option? Cam finally makes them assemble a decent neck design and they hide it from the public... disappointing

Agree, IMO the beauty of the 2022 7 is that it is an angular, yet not too pointy, compact shape. Clearly inspired by the 2022 5. The 2024 7 doesn't make sense to me. It is more pointy but loses the line?

I agree for the most part. I do like the angular milling coming off the top line. Think the "fangs" were better in the last version and I prefer the top line over the dots. For me, the x5.5 is the one that has grown on me. That is the one I will pick up if I don't get the new PLD Tyne. Still waiting close up pics of that.

Love the top milling on the 2022, all going in one direction, really helps with alignment. I might just buy another 2022 and send it off for a plumbers neck to play with. Even get the face smoothed out.

I have a 2013 Newport 2 that I love the look (black finish) and feel of. Much softer sound and feel than my ‘22 Phantom X 7.5 has

 

with the deeper milling of the 24 model I’d probably swap if it has a softer feel and sound to it

 

Almost bit on the 7.2 bc of the milling and black finish

The 5 looks slightly improved and the 7 much improved. Glad I grabbed the last version of the 11 when I did though. This is not an eye-pleasing release IMO. Too much PXG/Odyssey going on.
