I think course design will have a big influence. Can someone familiar with these course give a quick description of the designs? For example, long/short, small/large FW, more fade/draw, small/large greens, deep rough or not?

Pinehurst 2 -

Valhalla -

Royal Troon -

If a course is shorter, has smaller FWs, small greens, and rough not too deep or most of these factors, I would go with Collin Morikawa. Collin also doesn't do well with high wind.

Masters: Rahm
US Open: Scheffler
PGA: Åberg
The Open: Hovland

Rahm’s been hot early in the year the last few years. Scottie is great OTT, the greens are tough to hold and the waste area is intimidating on Pinehurst #2. Åberg for no particular reason. Hovland I just want to see win The Open.

Glad someone else is paying attention to Rory's MO.

Masters: Koepka

PGA: Cam Smith  (I can't figure how Valhalla suites any one particular type of golfer.  If Smith putts well, drives it ok and hits decent iron shots he should be near the top.)

US Open - Cam Smith  (Sort of Australian Sandbelt course feel to it.  Oddly enough I think BDC could do well here too if he is able to place his drives with either driver or 3 wood.)

The Open - Morikawa

Troon doesn't have the tightest fairways but some of the greens are quite small and the bunkering is deep. Probably a faders course if anything.

By far the biggest factor will, of course, be the Scottish summer weather. If it's calm and the rough is burned/wispy then the winning score will be very very low... So here's hoping for wind and rain in at least a couple of rounds.

The Postage Stamp (best par 3 in the world) will be fun as long as there's a breeze.

I like Morikawa's chances if the course has more fade holes and greens are small, but he needs no rain and wind. Collin always play badly in high wind because he can't hit it low like Rahm or other players.

hey are you the guy that got kicked out? 🤣

Nah just one of the sizable majority of British golf fans who were underwhelmed by his win. Don't get me wrong - it was fully deserved and he blew the field away (while also being abused by some drunken idiots) but for me he can be filed alongside Curtis, Hamilton and Cink as very uninspiring Open winners.
