My findings also....

I traded in my stock 23 prov1x for same amount of 24 TP5 !!! Felt that confident 😌

Wonder what it is?  Ive always been an X player.  ProV1 feel off to me even.  But this TP5 is something else really.  I like to know why things are the way they are - gonna have to deep dive.

From talking to the ball guys at TM, the biggest change was moving to a new core material that is softer, lighter, and has higher rebound which lets them use a firmer inner mantle. From their testing the ball speeds on both models increased over 2mph. They are very excited about the new golf balls.

Guys, let's see what happens when we start making doubles. I'm sure it will be the ball's fault !

Glad Im not the only one who had the experience I did with the new TP5.

Think there may be more of us but since there are 2 separate threads I can never remember which one I posted in.

But I agree with this statement 100%. @SwooshLT has been on the bandwagon for a little bit too now.

83 and 78 are good for me what can I tell you. Im not the average WRX player who hits it 350 with my hybrid and shoots 63 but isnt on tour........

as stated, the testing is out there......not my claim on the data, i dont test balls for a living....im just giving you my experience. if you dont like it, so be it. No sweat off my back either way.

83 and 78 are good scores.  I was not trying to say otherwise.  And not trying to take a shot at you for them.  My point was that you came in here and said that there was proof as if it's just objectively true that the ProV1 is more consistent in distance, spin, etc.  That only thing you provided was that you shot a better score with the ProV1.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion and preferences.  And your experiences are definitely valid and I absolutely do not doubt them.  But, you didn't just come say that the ProV1 is the better ball for you.  Your opinion being that the ProV1 is a better ball for you.  Your preference is the ProV1.  And that's great.  But, your experiences do not necessarily mean that those results can be applied across the board and it should be accepted fact.  In regards to testing to prove your statements about consistency, I have not been able to find.  If it's out there, I would love to see the testing you are referring to.

I doubt it though. Because at the highest level, those guys are not going to put their legacy on the line to play a ball that has been definitively proven as inferior.

Sorry you cant find what you seek. Thats on you. Its not my "claim" ..lol.....its someone else's "claim".  You put more effort into this type of posting over simply looking for TP5x testing data....

Who's claim then?  At least give us that lol.  Point us in some sort of direction to the data and tests you're referring to.

I forgot Morikowa and Fleetwood are the models for winning.....that may be the best statement yet

You’re right, I mean why use a guy who’s won two majors and a guy who holds a scoring record for the US Open when we can use a guy who shoots 83 and 78….

you act like your examples are from guys who actually win a lot......lol....but this seems to be your style.....keep trolling and attacking people.....it seems to make your day.

Just curious.....when do you go on tour?  you are right....i shoot 80 avg.....not very good......but you must be the hidden superstar that nobody has heard of yet.....cant wait to see you on TV soon....when is your next event? id love to come watch you dominate.

I’m not the one making ridiculous claims about golf balls that cannot be backed up by data. I’m a better player than you are, but not a professional. I would probably need to give you 2-3 a side to make it a fair match, but that’s not the point. You “attacked” two of the top 30 players in the world, not me. Maybe if you didn’t make such ridiculous claims then refuse to supply data to back up those claims you wouldn’t have issues with other members.

Well, looks like I missed some pleasantries.  I have thought about my Sunday round where the TP5 blew me away (since Ive been an X player forever and really felt the TP5x would again reign supreme).  I think the x might have been knuckling a bit as it seemed to just drop out of the sky on good hits.  Maybe not, and I dont think I have ever knuckled a ball, but its behavior down the fairway seemed odd to me.

Weather again sux in Ohio - and looking like April 13-14 before I will get out again.  Looking forward to another go with them both.

I completed so further testing on the course earlier, this time AVX v’s TP5x.

The TM ball was always the longer of the two whilst playing side by side and does seem to be a good fit for my game.

So far the TP5x has seen off the Callaway Chrome Tour and now the AVX. Maybe just maybe its toughest test might be against its on brother the TP5?IMG_3756.jpeg.3fa6d937632d360f9f5b8dd8731c18b5.jpeg

Did you find the tp5x higher launching than either of the other two while having more spin greenside?

Very difficult to tell to be honest as it is pretty wet still with regard spin rates. TP5x was higher with driver, AVX lowest

Nice.  These are my 2 favorites of 24 but I have not played the Chrome Tour yet.  I LOVE the yellow AVX. It just feels better to me.  The TP5x is longer, I think.  Perceived, at least.  I have not played them in the same round but have played them multiple times at the same course from same tees.  Weather/wind definitely could play a factor.  The TP5x feels firm off my putter.  Especially in comparison to the AVX. I have not played the TP5x in yellow yet.  Only the PIX. I prefer yellow balls and if I play white, I want a PIX.

I felt both balls spin pretty close to the same. At least I’ve never needed more or less spin during my rounds with each. Only issue I’ve had was the ball checking on a few short chips but I chalk that up to technique more than the balls. I was hoping for some chip and runs a they all stopped well short checking quickly.

the AVX is def a lower flight which for me is preferred as I’m a high ball hitter.   I could play either one and be happy.  Maybe when it’s hot here the firmer TP5x will feel fine but so far in 60° golf and lower, the AVX has felt better off putter and would be my choice of the two.
