Yes he was once young and really talented but he only had 1 really good year on tour in the few years before his injury. People remember him for either the most birdies in a round at the Masters or the 2008 Ryder Cup.

 

apart from being good, I think it was also due to the fact that he was a bit of a character. With his clothing, his attaching style of play... the PGA tour lacks that a bit now. Its a shame that some of the character left for LIV 😞

SMS-Tour on IG posted about Kim returning, so I'm hoping they get the scoop on the WITB stuff.  They are usually more focused on DP Tour content, but perhaps will have someone close to LIV who can get the info.  

 

I didn't watch tour golf back in the AK days.  Not because I'm too young, but because I wasn't golfing much as my main hobby was auto racing.  So I was watching a lot more F1, MotoGP, Indy content.  So I've never see AK play.

Racing isn't a hobby, it's a lifestyle.  A very expensive one at that, lol.

I progressively went slower and cheaper as I went thru my road racing hobby, finishing up with a vintage Formula Vee that ran on 87 octane, didn't need the brakes changed in 3 years of running, and I could buy leftover Hoosiers for half price that lasted half a season instead of just one weekend.  But between needing a tow vehicle, trailer, entrance fees, motels etc., it was still nearly a $1000/weekend hobby.  Then throw in the days before and after events fixing and prepping.  And a day off work after some events, because I was exhausted after racing in 100+ degree heat.

 

My yearly golf membership at my small local club is less than a single set of tires for that car.  And me "splurging" on a $50 box of balls doesn't even tick the radar.

I'm actually going to be watching, I'm keen to see him play a couple of full rounds again, should be interesting if nothing else. Certainly not expecting to see any course records but would like to see him do well
