From steel to titanium heads I remember the "bubble" wraps.

Yeah the OG Burner was well before the bubble technology.   I’m thinking mid to late 80s.

if only they can bring back the bubble shaft in some way 🙂

As someone who works part time at a golf store in club repair, I disagree with this statement.  😂

We get them a few times a year, and there are only a few styles that we have in stock that we can usually make work on those shafts.

I played a 13.5 BRNR last season and it's so easy to use. I get about 90% of my driver distance from it.

I just ordered an 11.5* version of the new one on the same shaft I was fitted for in my driver, but 1/2" longer than the usual mini length. It'll be interesting to see if it works as a driver replacement option.

The Burner Plus was released in 1988 (Burner was 1983), the Burner with Bubble was 1994 I believe. The Ti model arrived in '95.

The Golf Rite grip would be more apt to one of the first few Burners. A mini OG Burner would be neat.

I played the 11.5 brnr the end of last season as my driver replacement at 1/2” long. It was fantastic! But like an idiot, I just always felt like I was leaving distance behind even though I hit it side by side with my previous driver (TSr4) and it was just as long. I ordered the new one just because I miss that look. It really is a beast! And when set a couple clicks low with the longer shaft I feel like it will keep up with about anything out there. I can’t wait to put it back in the bag!

So my first driver ~1992 was a Taylormade System 2 9* with Dynamic Gold R300. I played that for like 3 years until my friend sold me his Taylormade Burner 3 wood with bubble shaft that I used as a driver for a whole year until he sold me his Great Big Bertha. This club is so nostalgic for me with the color scheme, I had to order one to give it a try.

Ok, finally got my weight today and here are two things I noticed. Weight plus screw equals the grams I ordered. The weight by itself does not match the grams ordered. Also, I needed a T20 tip to get it tightly screwed in as the normal fitting wrench does not fit into the screw head. Below is the buyer I used through Amazon.

A 13.5* Mini has me curious as a 3 wood replacement.

I'm a 5 cap gaming an OG Stealth Plus at 14.25* and it gives me good numbers, but I play approx 75% of my shots with it off the tee and my miss with a teed-up 3 wood tends to be a toe-strike, which can result in a hard quacker.

Being that I only play 25% of 3 wood shots off the deck, I'm wondering if the 13.5* Mini is easy enough to launch off the deck, while the extra MOI of the bigger head might help me a bit more off the tee shots.

I appreciate there's only so much MOI can do for this sort of miss, but any more feedback on how the 13.5* compares to something like a Stealth Plus fairway would be welcome.

Still a bit large for my liking but looks great, I still play the original Ping Rapture 3 wood because I like the larger 3 woods and I think there is a market for them, it was about 230 cc, this is over 300, if someone came out with a larger 3 wood in that 220-240 cc range I'd be all over it, but the mini driver is a bit different. With the Rapture I can still play it off the turf no problem, I doubt thats the case with all these mini drivers

I love the BRNR in the bag, I also have a Qi10 Tour three wood and I would say that I can hit the brnr just fine off the ground but it’s a little harder if you’re steeper with the woods I think it could be a challenge to hit off the deck.

Yes I am, 13.5, two clicks less loft and upright. Played the first round today- it’s a tee club for me. I rarely ever hit 3-wood off the deck.

this thing is amazing, sets up great, ball flight is strong. No ballooning which I was expecting with the loft and length. Weight was back this first round, I may move the heavy one forward.

Gaps well behind a solid drive, but it’s way more consistent than the driver.

Do favor a fade or a draw normally?

I’ve always played a small draw. Last two seasons the driver started to fall to the right (I’m a righty).

Early in the season for me, but everything is back to normal and the draw is there with the driver as well.

I hate a ball that misses left, hooks have always been my disaster miss. With the Mini in the upright setting and slightly delofted the left side hasn’t been an issue at all. Ball flight is very straight, turns over perfectly when needed. I can’t hit a cut or anything left to right intentionally so I’m perfectly happy with the “straight” ball or little draw.

I was a little worried it may turn over too much but it’s been point and shoot. Everything about it is just super comfortable. No idea how it is off the deck, but I love it

After carrying both the new 11.5 and last year's 13.5 for a bit I decided to sell the 13.5 head. I've cranked up the loft on the 11.5 and it has really come to life for me as an alternate tee club.

How closed does the face get with the TM adapter when lofting up? I just got a BRNR - the epoxy is drying right now - and I'm used to callaway adapters with tour issue clubs that have open faces where i can close them and theyre still neutral. Is the BRNR pretty neutral in a + loft?
