I live in a very small town, and am a member of a very small club, in a very rural area. If our members couldn't wear jeans, we would have no members. I played yesterday with a friend who was leaving after the round to call coyotes, so he was in full camo. [b]But he plays quckly and by the rules, so I would rather play with him in camo than someone in Polo who slobbers his way around the course.

THIS, THIS, THIS. Judge your playing compaionions by how they conduct themselves on the course, not what they conduct themselves in.

Im in my late 20's and i would never wear jeans on the course. If your course is adjoined to a trailer park then i guess jeans are ok. I dont know how you say jeans are more comfortable when most of the guys who wear jeans on the course are wearing a 10 year old pair that is two sizes too small. Now dont get me wrong im not a Khaki pants tucked in shirt guy. i wear shorts (not jean shorts either) untill its cold then its khakis. To everyone who wears jeans you know they do sell khaki pants at Walmart, even wrangler makes them.
So...
Khakis from Walmart + untucked shirt= "Classy?"
Well-fitting jeans (that cost far more than any Walmart cheapo khakis and likely fit better) = trailer trash?

:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

I'll be sure to relay this to the people who play in jeans at my course who pull up in their Caddies, Lexus, and Audis. :secret:
You obviously didnt get the Joke so let me say this SLOWLY. I was saying people who wear jeans to golf most likely shop at wal-mart. and i am impressed you know so many people in high places who drive such nice cars. I am 27 and my girlfriend is 26 we both drive Audi's not really a big deal.

I work a blue collar job and live a blue collar lifestyle. I enjoy and respect the game very much. As such I treat the course and everyone on it with respect., wether they're dressed like a tour pro, or wearing cut off Daisy Dukes. I can't afford to outfit myself with a second wardrobe just to play. The game is expensive enough the way it is with memberships and equipment costs. By the way my membership only costs me $675 for two courses and it's a burden to come up with that each year. Not everyone is well enough off to approach the game the same way some of you guys do. Demeaning someone because of what they wear would not be acceptable with the people I play with (who all wear jeans by the way). While everyones opinions are their own business, maybe you could keep the useless low blows to yourself. Grow up...

I`ll wear jeans to the indoor golf dome during the winter, but never when I`m outside unless its a spur of the moment range session. I really dislike the look, won`t get into it. Not sure how people can say they are more comfortable then a pair of golf pants. I love my Adidas pants, and even seemless TW Platniums.

I guess for me it's what I'm more comfortable with. I wear jeans on a daily basis. I wear slacks when the occassion calls for it. But for me they're comfortable for about the first thirty minutes, not something I'd want to do anything physical in. I am sure it's different for golf pants, probably designed a little better for something like that. If I were to play more competetively I would probably lean towards slacks, but on a casual round I feel no need to go home and change after work before I hit the course. Then again, I'm not playing the most upscale courses around either. I'm not out of place I guess.

Never have, never will. I am at a club that doesn't allow denim or collarless shirts on property. I appreciate that, and so do our guests / members. Winter is always the worst....the jeans are warmer than thin khaki's so it is something we monitor. We have light weight rain pants that we "loan" out for those that are not aware of the restriction, or we make them a really "good deal" on a pair of slacks from the pro shop. Our members and guests have high expectations of the course, staff and clubhouse....we have high expectations of them as well....

I would never wear jeans to golf and I don't ever play anywhere that allows it. I would rather someone make the effort and wear slacks and a collar even if it is cheap and from walmart than to have the arrogance to show up in jeans and expect it to be allowed.

No for me. I have yet to see or play with a person that wore jeans to play and they played well. Most of the time they are pretty bad and I quit after 9 holes.
So, if you play with people that play bad you quit? I think I played with you once :)
I think it is funny how seriously people stand on this issue. That it has the potential to make you NOT play is laughable. I understand that some establishments do not allow it, which is their prerogative. But if someone can play in jeans and keep pace, they can be my playing partner any day. Hopefully they will not be offended by my knickers.

If it's about tradition, than why don't we wear the garb from the 1700's. I just don't understand if people think it is below them to play with the common folk or what. I think maybe some of these folk think a little too highly of themselves. I'm not trying to come off as a jerk, I just get irritated when people look down on other people like that. I have a feeling that is the attitude that has kept a lot of people from taking up the game.

Like I said before, I am a big NO on jeans on the Golf Course. However, I always wear jeans and can not understand the point of them being extremely uncomfortable?? Go out and spend a few more dollars and get a good pair of jeans that fit. I could play 18 in my jeans if I had to, just can't at most clubs and not a fan of the look. The pic of MuLuman83 above looks fine to me, those seem like jeans with some style. I do hit balls in the fall/winter at a public range in jeans and have never been uncomfortable?
All of this being said, I have never played a round of golf with a good player wearing jeans on the course.

I can't believe 20% on this site wears jeans, even occasionally.

I am pretty much a full blown golf noob (though quickly improving) and I'm embarrassed to play with my low HC jackass friend that wears jeans.
