just got a set today from 3balls online for 80$
5-SW Blue dot, ZZ Lite shafts.
Listed as "Good" Condition. They came in great shape, way better than good condition in my opinion. Only thing is the grips are shot, but that is pretty much to be expected with a set this old. I probably would have replaced the grips anyways.

Played first round with the WRX Eye2+. The feel is a little different but they still perform good. Big club head for the shorter irons even by today's standard.

Eye 2 plus no plus for me. SW-2Iron. Red dot. I have a low hands, flat swing and the design of the
club fits me perfect. I've used Eye 2s off and on since '89. I've enjoyed using other sets, includingblades, but if I want score low, the Pings are in the bag.

I have a set 3-LW in Graphite all original from the factory but I am thinking of reshafting with steel. I guess that will bring down the value some but I really want a more playable shaft for me. Any suggestions on what to reshaft with These are the eye2+ by the way.

You can find a good set with steel shafts that would probably be less expensive than re shafting your set.

Exactly. Buy another set with steel shaft or to reshaft. Don't destroy what you have.
There is something mystical about Pings that's all original (grip doesn't count as they are consumables, but if grips are original that's very good sign of light usage).
The black/white striped grip is Dyla grip. The one before that is the Pingman grip. Then it's the diamond patterned i3 grip.

Love the Eye 2's!!! Play a set of + No + Ping Eye 2's along with a Cleveland Classic driver and Cleveland Mashie fairway woods and hybrids to give the bag a totally retro look. Toss in a BeNi Scottsdale Anser putter and my set is complete.

I have 3 sets of Eye 2+'s, 2 sets of BeCu's and one of the steels. I have played Eye 2's, Eye 2+'s since the late 80's and my current gamers are the set of BeCu's with ZZ Lites. I've tried a few different sets of irons from time to time but nothing comes close to the feel and consistency of the Pings.

I don't have any experience with the Ping Eye 2's, but I've been playing the Karsten 2's from 1975 occasionally for 15 years or so. Bought them for $80, needed to regrip them. Yesterday, I played them, only complaint is that the black regular lie seems to be flatter than I would expect. I suspect someone had them bent before I got them.

Good clubs, all in all. I don't think I'd ever sell them. If the Eye 2's are better clubs, they must REALLY be good.

Should I get a set of Ping eye2 or eye2+? Looks like only difference is groove design?

Eye2+ have slightly stronger lofts, and the short irons also have a different sole than the original Eye2's.

Eye2, 2-PW: 18½°, 21½°, 25°, 28½°, 32°, 36°, 40°, 45°, 50½°
Eye2+, 2-PW: 18½°, 21½°, 24½°, 27½°, 31°, 35°, 39½°, 44°, 48½°

The SW/LW lofts for the Eye2's are 57 and 61, while the Eye2+ SW/LW are 53/58.

the iron that revolutionized the game!!!! I don't play them any longer but I do have an awesome set of Ping eye 2 coppers 2-LW and a copper Zing putter in a bag in my office. Loved them when I played them. I also have the Ping eye 2 maple woods as well 1,3,5,7

Tried my Eye2s out this spring, and have just fallen out of love with them. Apparently I am a blade man, and I just have a hard time dealing with the offset.

This being said, their light swingweight means they will make a great iron set for my oldest daughter to use, and I have a feeling they may leave the house with her when she goes out on her own.

BOTH of my sons. The 25 year old has a set of BeCu Eye2+ (2-S), and the 22 year old has a set of the stainless Eye2 (3-W).

Wonderful sticks which, IMHO, will never be outdated.

Picked up a set at GS for $59 3-SW with zz kites. They were in great shape so I had to buy them. Played 9 and they were the easiest club to hit I've ever used. No wonder they get so much love.

The going rate seems to be around $150 or so, at least around SoCal.

That's pretty pricey.

Got my 3-P for $125 including a white Ping staff bag in Minnesota - however lots of sets were for sale at that time. Seems to be the normal course of supply and demand business.

Though I've often thought that ping should have gone beyond the wedges in the XG issue. If they reissued the Eye2 set with XG grooves, I bet they'd sell tons of them.
