No, they offer the 3-iron separately (20*). The normal set is 4-AW because the lofts are so jacked up, with the 4-iron (22*) basically being a 3-iron and likewise on down the set. Nothing surprising nowadays with game-improvement sets, or even some "players" sets.

Can't remember the last time I saw someone with weight cut out of the wedge like DD has with his.

Got me thinking that the old Titleist wedge that was in his name was the same but checked to see and it was actually the Brad Faxon wedge that had that look.

If that is the truth, I have a lot of respect for Nike. Even if they are just giving him equipment, that is pretty classy. Especially with the stable they have this year.

I agree with you. But I guess I was thinking more of getting a club that combines the 2 & 3 iron and maybe throw another wedge in there. I know most pros only have 3 wedges in the bag. Most 2 irons you see are from longing hitting younger guys like Gary Woodland and Kyle Stanley.

Good to see DD back with a real golf company hes got the game as evidenced by US Open run couple years back. Im sure with Nike its performance based but either way. Still no one else has shot a final round 59 in a PGA event.

Lots of players I know like and still play 2 irons, so yeah I think they would sell especially in the VRS forged model iron. They could have it as a "special order" only type of club. Lots of people on here are clamering to get their hands on one actually.

I'm waiting for people to realize this. Even at the 3 iron level....

My buddy is a 11 handicap and I'm trying help him improve his game - his hybrid has been the #1 liability in his bag. He's be on track to shoot a 78 and he'd flare that damn hybrid off into the weeds and take a double....

I took the hybrid out of his hand and made him hit his 4 iron instead (which previously never left his bag). His misses are better and his handicap dropped 2 points. He hits it all the time - I told him to get his 3 iron out of his garage and put it in his bag. You miss with a long iron and you thin it or squeeze it into the left rough. You miss with a hybrid and you can potentially be taking stroke and distance.

Would really like to try this club and would buy it if available... I have always struggled finding that perfect club between 3 wood and 3 iron and I know I'm not alone...

The hybrids are temperamental at best. The 5 wood I have now is good but still not money yet but improving. The old 2 irons I used to play were harder to produce higher shots off the ground than the hybrids/5 woods but at the bad shots are not as bad. These VR_s forged may be best of both worlds?

There is a market for these... Small one but as a custom only option it would be nice to have access to items like this. Charge more for them if need be but obviously they can make them and Tour staff guys like it so sell them.

Since Nike won't sell these and I tried a bent 3 iron last year (too much offset) going to try the Callaway and Mizuno utility 18* this year I think.
