Has anyone played the Covert Tour with Aldila RIP alpha? That's what I'm prepping for. As a high ball hitter by nature, it sounds like this should bring my trajectory down significantly. TIA.

RIP Alpha will definitely bring launch and spin rates down. I hit that shaft and the Beta and I got good spin rates with the Beta paired with the lower spinning Tour head, launch is just right at 10.5 neutral.

Spent a few hours on the range with my Cover Performance/Silver KK shaft, and it is literally the most muted head I have ever hit. Hard to explain, but there is NO ting....just super quiet, almost too quiet. I went between this and my G20 and it does take some time to get adjusted to the Covert, but once you get used to it, this thing just fires lasers. It seems to be pretty low spin. So far I'm pretty happy with this driver.

I think someone said golf works or a site like that sold the adapters, although they said it didnt come with a ferrule?
the first batch that were sold by GolfWorks (they're the only ones selling them that I'm aware of) didn't come with the ferrule. They actually called me and asked if mine came with one, I told them no, and they shipped me one right away, which was good of them. I think they are now coming with the ferrule and there shouldn't be anymore problems.

It´s a marketing hyped piece of chunck
If you think about it, everything that oems release have to be marketed and hyped. Whether or not it's "chunck" is subjective. I think the saying goes "one man's 'chunck' is another man's treasure" :D

Covert Tour kicked my J33r 460 out of the bag which is something I didn't see coming. The CT seems to not really care where you hit it on the face. I pulled the stock KK Silver 60s and put in a DI6s and can't tell which shaft I like more. Dispersion and distance seem the same but the KK felt easier to hit.

Really liked this club. Thinking about getting it, but was looking for some insight by someone who has used it more than me. For the Covert Tour has anyone tried a light weight shaft like Fuji Blur or Aerotech Claymore? I would think that could give more distance since the head is so low spinning. I have been thinking about this idea for awhile now, but I haven't read about anyone trying that. Thanks.

I don't understand all the people talking about "muted" sound... that must be the Performance head only, b/c the Tour head has a deep/loud sound to me.......... btw, I will be experimenting with a SK Superfly shaft next week.....i'll bring the review and pics later
Tour is definitely louder, hit my friends Tour versus my Performance back to back at the range last night.
Well I have always loved a shorter driver...yet when you cut down a driver you lose swing weights. So to combat this people put lead tape on the head or get it hot melted. I've never had great results from either process. So instead if I put a 130 gram shaft in the driver and cut it down to 43.75" I still measured a D2 on the swing weight scale. So now I am standing over a driver that is super short in todays terms and am just oozing confidence knowing that its super easy to hit and then shaft really helps keep your tempo in check. I let everybody and anybody who asks hit this club and not one has disliked it...in fact I am building another for my boss. I hit 9 fairways with this thing yesterday (which is awesome for me) and drove quite a few over the 300 yard mark. It just performs.

I put a CT in the bag this last week. I am still playing with the settings on it right now, but I am trying to decide on the 9.5 or 10.5 setting with a Right bias.

I built it with a UST 7x Black Tour SPX shaft that has been tipped 1/2" playing at 45" and D4.5. The head has been hot-melted and weighs in at 204.5g. I am using a Lamkin 3gen grip with 3 wraps under right hand and 2 under left.

This setup is longer and more consistent than my F12 LS was with the same shaft, etc setup. I am a super high spin player so the low spin of this driver is amazing, lowest spin driver I have ever hit! I played the LS at 9* and 1/2* open, this launches lower, gets up to almost the same height and lands where my LS runs out and still runs when it hits the ground.

I played this last weekend in 25mph winds with a B330 ball, and I hit 50% of the fairways and was in the fringe 3 others and a fairway bunker on 1. Tee time at 1pm today, 82* out today, first chance to play it above 70*, cant wait to see what its like.

Have you experimented with different steel shafts?
