Updates on TaylorMade's TP Line Irons/Woods Revival? (merged)

Can anyone explain to me, from a technical perspective, why only the MC would have the slot? I am a little confused...i mean, is there a reason the CB wouldnt have one as well? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Take a look at the new Adams XTD slotted irons...the 8-PW have slots (no speed pocket, just face flex) and only a small portion is cavity....MC type? .... And the 3-7 irons have a little more cavity, ie CB type?

It will be interesting to see what TM does with their TP line of slotted irons.

According to the Adams website the XTD irons have the slot throughout the whole set. if you look at the pics on their site you can see the slot in the 5 and 6 irons. They will also be available with the new Aldila RIP Tour iron shafts as well as C-Tapers.

Probably a "feel" thing.... so all the irons have the same feel, consistency.
The head is actually hollow and then the face is welded on leaving a cavity that is then filled in with the poly material. Likely helps with keeping dirt out, sound quality, COR.

Thats what I was told by my rep last week. They have a national sales meeting in which the rest of the line will be shown, namely the TP irons and the "B" woods/hybirds

Very true. I seen a pic of the MBs about a month ago and they looked sweet. I was forbidden to take any pics but tried to describe them the best I could earlier in this thread. They were still in the "prototype" stage so who knows if they will be altered a bit by release time.

what current or past MB would you say they look like? i've heard they have a very clean look, but what other iron would you say the new MB looks like?

Better than current, but still like the original one better. Logo on top of the shield is good, but not digging the cheap looking shield behind it.

Guys, Yesterday I received a pm from a member stating that TM may nix the TP logo on the new irons that were on the original protos many of us have already seen. I have a call out to a TM insider I know to confirm or deny this info. Not the news us TP ho's wanted to hear. I'll post back once I get additional info.

I hope so too. The fwys/hybrids only have the TP logo in the shafts so there may be some validity to this info I received yesterday. I hope it is not the case though...

Honestly I prefer the clean look of clubs so I would be ok with out the logo on them as far as looks wise. But I wont be playing MB's so take my opinion for what its worth.
