Then again I wasnt a fan of him doing it at the time, so maybe I'm just being negative lol!

I was thinking the exact same thing! Interesting to put a reference to a moment that was part of major letdown for team USA. I mean yes he was one of the lone bright points to the US that week, but they did end up losing...

I think they are great.
Also if he can win and play well under the pressure of an away Ryder cup, it must give him confidence when he reaches for a wedge playing normally on the tour or a major. Hence I don't think the USA losing as a team matters.

I think for me it's about him catching a lot of flack for doing it, so I guess it's weird that he wants to commemorate it?

I don't know if that makes sense or not. And FWIW I'm not ragging on the guy, I love how he plays the game.

I thought I read somewhere that he and the crowd had played to each other all day and by the end the European crowd had fun with it. The way it played out on TV/in the media, it seemed more abrasive then it actually was.

I'm a fan of the wedges and the player.

I love it. I like his personality too. There are too many cookie cutter pros these days that just say all the right things. The guy may say or do some things that seem dumb, but he is just being himself. He seems like he has his head on straight off the course too, and hopefully will be a big part of future Ryder Cup teams. The US could use a little swagger. Reed also did the Shhhhh on the 16th green during the waste management. I think he does it in fun, not to be an a**.

You're either the joke or part of it, I guess.

Awesome wedges and a Great photo!

I really like that everyone involved is taking this with a grain of salt, and having a good time with it.

When tensions run high, and you go a little over the top, people can take it the wrong way very easily. However, a good friend will just make fun of you... forever... like they should. And the person who reacted that way can shy away from it and let the insults fade without acknowledging them. However, a stand up person will recognize it, embrace it and do their best to get out ahead of it... like they should.

Besides... situations like this always result in the best nicknames.

I don't disagree, but it just reconfirms to me that PGA tour players are entirely a brand unto themselves and creating, maintaining and increasing the awareness of their brand is priority #1

They look epic, and I know who I will be talking with when I look to replace a wedge in the bag. Love the "shhh" thing myself, and given his record during play, I have no massive issue with shushing the crowd a bit. Not that I could hear if someone was mocking him before he did it, but if that was due to one person it worked out well.

Coming soon: ShhhhWear by Patrick Reed. ShhhhWear, for when you want to shut your opponent up. :)
