    My Gamer is the

    F8 9* Aldila NV Blue 65x 45"

Recently got fitted for this after my failed fitting with the srixon Z565 Miyazaki kalua 7x

Was decent numbers in the fitting but ended up with a 2 way miss which o cannot have , the F8 no matter how hard I step on it, just didn't want to go left which I am pleasantly pleased , actually changed my shot Shape (which I've not been able to do with many drivers) from a 10 yard draw to about a 5 yard power fade which is so much more controllable , and no more 2 way miss.

    My second choice:

    Ping G400 LST 9* Project X evenflow 75x

Was getting great numbers when I tested this , but on mishits my ball speed was dropping off far too much which was not happening with the F8

Great driver though , just not as consistent for me.

    Third choice

    Taylormade M4 9.5* Fujikura Atmos white 65x

This thing was a bullet, we tried it in all different setups to optimise it but just couldn't , was hitting low knuckleballs which is not what I was looking for , feels great , but the 2 way miss crept back in .

Overall the F8 is definitely the driver for me , the best I've drove the ball for a while and eliminated 1 side of the course of the tee.

I will admit I am a big Ping fan so I have not hit a lot of other drivers lately but its hard to imagine I could like another driver better than my Ping G400 max.

Did some demo work with the Rogue, G400, and the M4. Got the best numbers out of the M4 with a lighter weight shaft (Fujikura Pro S 53). Ordered one from TaylorMade on Friday, and really looking forward to putting it into play.

I’m an outlier but I went to the golf store with the intent to buy the MAX last night and took my Epic to trade in and compare to the MAX on the simulator. The MAX was very straight but I was giving up 15 to 20 yards. The Epic, for my swing, performed better.
  • I got myself a G400 Max, and it is certainly better than all the other drivers I've tried. I put a good swing on it and the ball goes reasonably straight.

I don't think there's anything magical here, I think it just looks amazing by comparison, as with many other drivers a good swing can still produce a bad (or horrendous) result. So thanks PING for making a driver that doesn't suck.

I've tried the M1/M2, Epic, Rogue and Cobra F8. The one driver that stood out is my gamer Ping G400 with the Tour shaft. None of the others approached the consistency of the Ping.
  • Tried the new z785 with po70tx on the simulator........ was getting really good numbers. We'll see how it compares to my current g400 lst when it arrives.

I think we have to add the TSs to the list. Are they out yet?
  • G400 LST and the entire G400 family are hands down the best of 2018, super forgiving and LONG!!!
  • mbartmbart Members Posts: 59 ✭✭
Callaway Rogue and G400 LST would get my vote - have hit both on the range only though. Rogue toe was maybe slightly lower than I like to see, but I didn’t play around with any of the settings. Both were amazing - sound/feel, accuracy, distance. That said, I can eventually grove just about anything on the range - these two performed pretty much instantly though. I was impressed.

I voted MAX, play the G400, but have to say, I think the 785 deserves a look, too. Just picked one up and will hopefully get it on course this week.

I was fitted into and voted M3. However, I went into a late summer slump and after 2 shaft changes on the M3 went G400 with tour stiff. I was not happy with the distance so grabbed a M2 with HZRDUS Black. So glad I went back to what use to work as I saw distance and forgiveness like I have not seen all year. Got my first round in with it yesterday and FINALLY walked off 18 with even par on the card.

    My summation of the 3:

M3- Very difficult for me to hit my normal draw regardless of shaft. Too easy for me to lose right on a bad day.

Ping G400- I hit a decent percentage of fairways but lost a little distance. This one want to go straight but I still did not get the shape I really wanted. Also not a club I really liked looking down at but that is personal.

M2- Brings back the baby draw and the distance that comes with it. More forgiving than the M3, longer than the PingG, and looks great behind the ball!

I guess the proof is in the pudding as they say and the M2 helped me back to my first even round in a long time yesterday when bagged for the first time. Temp was in the 40's when we started with tough winds and I was longer and straighter than I have been all year.

I have both G400 and G400 Max heads, my gamer however, is the G LST, the G400 Max is a close second, difference?, I get a bit more distance out of the G LST, that's all, since my G LST is not on the list, my vote is for the G400 Max

My vote is for my gamer the G400 LST but really the whole Ping G400 lineup is just stellar. They were able to make 4 pretty unique options to fit probably the widest variety of golfers of any of the major brands. The LST is such a stable head for a low-spin option. The G400 Max is also a good option since it's actually quite the bomber for what amounts to one of the most, if not the most forgiving drivers out there. Ping has made its mark in the bags of some of the longest guys on Tour (Finau and Champ for instance) and even found themselves in the bags of several players when they were free agents (P. Reed and Finau before he signed with them). There are so many good options out there now but the G400 range as a whole has to be tops of all the companies.

Agreed. Theres not one driver from the G400 line that's the best, all of them are good. I keep trying to find something to compete with it and I can't find anything.

I voted G400 LST earlier this year, but I want to change my vote to G400 Max. It took me a while to give it a try, but I am finally on the G400 max bandwagon. This thing is every bit as long as the LST and I am finding more fairways.

A bit surprised by all the Ping love. To me they are very solid looking drivers, but I didn't see them knocking off TM and Cally. I guess the M3/4 doesn't have the same appeal as the M1/2. Same for rogue/epic.
