Best Grips For Rain

Played my first rainy round in a while the other day. I use callaway rain gloves and have the standard golfpride titleist grip on my ts3. On the third hole the club went flying....right into the stone tee marker :'( the pro shop hooked me up and swapped out the head...but want to avoid that ever happening again. rest of the round i had no confidence in holding onto my clubs and it really affected my round.

anyone have a recommendation on the best grips for wet weather?

Never used the Callaway rain gloves but I am a big fan of the FootJoy ones, although I only wear one as opposed to two. I found that with two my right hand just felt a little unusual and that I was actually losing grip. Might be worth a try for yourself just going with one.

In terms of grips, something with cord would be the way to go. I cannot see past the Golf Pride Tour Velvet BCT’s, just brilliant.

i have MCC+4s on my irons. i really like them, but might be getting near time to regrip. i'll give the tour velvets a feel.

Lamkin Utx

Grip Master or any other leather grip. They more moisture, sweat or rain, the more tacky they become. They are a bit pricey but they’ll outlast your clubs

I've been really happy with my Iomic X-Evolution grips. The work well in the rain, especially when I'm using rain gloves (I use FootJoy), and they stay tacky for a long long time.

Utx cord or crossline cord

I roll my Best Grip leathers in the morning dew and wipe them with a towel whenever I want more tack. I would not need a glove in the rain.

Leather grips are stoopid tacky!

Get a corded grip with a little bit of tack to it. I like Lamkin UTx cords, but I've also had good luck with Golf Pride NDMC (not the +4) and Crossline Cords.

Another vote for leather. I have clubs with both Master Grip (standard taper) and Best Grips (slightly larger under lower hand) and there are NO ISSUES with sweat or rain ever. Typically last 5 yrs or more too. BGs run about $19 ea at regular price, but the guy who owns it is here often and gives a discount to GolfWRX members I believe. Master Grip can get pricey for sure.

I have Lamkin UTX and I have been very happy. Not going to lie I am tempted to try leather next

Pure dtx

FJ rain gloves are a godsend. Grips can get as wet as you want and no slippage, they actually feel tackier. Completely takes away the stress of keeping grips dry away. Also work great in humid weather for me.

GP z-Cord

UTX...without question. Leather is the only thing better.
