Tracking Hasn't Moved In 9 Days - What to do?

I purchased a shaft from a reputable eBAY seller last weekend. Shipped via USPS. Label was created Monday morning. Shipment Received - Package Acceptance Pending on Monday Afternoon --- then nothing since then.

USPS Customer Service was no help. Tried calling the Post Office it was shipped out of and couldn't get through. Emailed the seller and they said they have seen delays and situations where packages weren't scanned until they reached their destination post office.

So I know there are delays going on right now....am I a jerk for being upset that it looks like it hasnt moved in over a week? Overreacting? Any suggestions on who to call, what to do?

Anyone else seen similar delays? I have received quite a few packages in the last 3 months and havent seen any major delays really for the most part.

Give it time considering today's environment. I've had several packages delayed more than a week including one I shipped priority mail. Hope you get your package safe and sound.

Yeah, its crazy with USPS. I live in Atlanta and if I order from CA or AZ, it gets here in 2 days almost 100% of the time. If I order from the northeast, I can usually expect 1 day delay. The midwest and all bets are off. I've had packages delayed a week or more. Not sure why the heartland has so much trouble with USPS.

I get it. Packages in and out of Michigan we’re running 3-4 weeks behind at the height of the pandemic. I actually was able to talk to a local Annex employee who told me that numerous distribution centers had Covid cases that resulted in 14 day quarantines for all the employees at that site. She said if it shows in transit, it’s not lost, just stored. Things are a little better over the past few weeks, but still a little slow.

Set of irons took 3 weeks from Dallas/Ft Worth to Alabama with USPS Priority Mail, eBay seller was very helpful in contacting USPS and that seemed to help, arrived next day after he opened the case.

If they are indeed prioritizing shipments, that would be fine with me, but I really don't think that is the issue here. I have shipped/bought quite a few things recently and they have been horrible as far as getting stuff from point A to point B. I have shipped Priority Mail twice on separate occassions from Milwaukee to Chicago. Both times it has sat in my local post office for over a day, it then goes to Madison (opposite direction), sits for a day, back to my local post office, and finally to the final destination. I don't think you can say this is a a case of prioritizing packages for first responders. I just bought something from MN a week ago, tracking shows it went to IN, then to NY (I am still waiting for this in WI). I personally think they have something seriously going wrong lately, perhaps amplified by everything else that is going on. I sure hope any critical medical equipment is being shipped Fedex or UPS.

Yup. I have filed the Missing Mail search two or three times and it does seem to help. Funny thing is that Priority Mail is very hit or miss right now.

You do need to file after 7 business days have passed, but it does seem to get them interested in getting the package back on track.

I’m waiting on a Mavrik driver that was shipped 6/9 and shows In Transit to Next Destination. I’ll be filing a Missing Mail Search on 6/19 as I don’t expect it to arrive before then as I am in Michigan and it seems all my packages have to go through the regional hub in Detroit where packages seem to sit due to COVID and lack of employees apparently.

Sit tight, file a missing mail search after 7 business days and it typically shows up 2-3 days after that.

My kid mailed something for delivery 20 miles away and no tracking showed up for 30 days. The kid filed a lost package claim with USPS and all of a sudden the package shows up in the system and was delivered a few days later. Very odd. Moral of the story is to not panic. USPS rarely looses stuff (although it's not unheard of.)

Still hasn't shown any movement now in two weeks. Took the advice of some above and opened a missing package case with USPS. Package would be going from CT to OH so I guess some of the midwest and Northeast issues would be applicable. Appreciate the feedback -- I'll be patiently waiting and hopefully opening a case helps things.

I live in CT and there have been issues with the NJ and MA sorting centers, lots of people out sick due to Covid so they're running at like 50% capacity.
