I have waited my whole life to see this happen. LOL.

I thought everyone aims for the ball collecting cart on the range. It's like playing a carnival game..

I try to miss the picker, but this is golf.

I shanked one straight into the wire cage on the picker one time. Went and played 18 then I saw him as I was leaving so I went over and apologized. He was like "So that was you!" and laughed about it. I felt bad.

I have so many, but I'll share just two. The 12th hole at Edgewood Golf Course in Massachusetts has a blind, uphill, tee shot to a gentle dogleg back down the hill. All four of us hit good tee balls down the middle, but when we get to the crest of the hill and look down the fairway, only three balls are visible. We know that there should be 4-balls near each other but we cannot find the fourth ball. The missing ball belongs to the guy with the honors (the guy who hit first). It's a friendly match but sorry, he's out of the hole. We let him drop a ball so that we can move on, but his partner will have to save the team. As we are putting out, we notice the first ball coming over the hill from the group behind us. Mystery solved! As the ball rolls down the fairway, a red fox bolts from the woods, grabs the golf ball, and scurries back into the woods. After the round we tell the pro what happened on 12. He tells us that the grounds crew has found dozens of golf balls neatly piled near a fox den deep into the woods. Their scorecard has a picture of a fox on it for this very reason. The Edgewood Foxes, oh my!

Playing an exclusive club after a heavy rain storm, I witness two young men (20ish) disobey the rules with their golf cart and leave the cart path. Suddenly, their cart goes into an uncontrollable skid and slides about 50 feet directly into a huge pond. They survived, but the cart with their clubs sank rather quickly. It was very entertaining to witness. When it's CART PATHS ONLY, obey the rules!

So I had been playing about 2 years and had a Saturday morning tee time with a buddy at a local public course. I get there about an hour before the round and hit balls on the range and then go putt. At this point there is no sign of my buddy so I call him and to my dismay wake him up from the previous evenings bender. The pro shop after hearing my situation puts me with a threesome going out after our original time. These guys are complete beginners but a fun group none the less, first hole is a par 4 with water right about 250 from the tee, I hit my drive with a bit of (unintentional) left to right movement and end up beside the water about 120 out. at this point the others are still looking for balls all over the place, some ahead of me some OB, so I decide to hit a pw and announce heads up and sweet the shot it takes one bounce and jars for eagle. I will never forget that shot but the best part was for several holes after I am inundated with questions like "am I gripping it right?", am I lined up right? can you read this putt? and what club should I hit?. needless to say they figured it out after a couple of holes.

A Marshall driving like a madman yelling at people to get off the course because a sniper is shooting at golfers on the course. My brother and I looked at each other and we chucked our clubs over the fence, jumped over and ran to our car. The cops were pulling into the parking lot and they ran into the pro shop. We slammed the trunk and peeled out. Later, we went to Carl's Jr. and had a Famous Star w/ cheese and fries.

One day, youll regret it and go back for em. (Bleh!)

Haven’t gone back in 5 years. They probably got caught up in a mower. Poor guy that had to remove them.

The oddest 9 holes I have ever played happened in a middle school golf match. On the second hole I holed out a wedge shot from 50 yards (at the time, my longest hole out ever... still may be  ), then on 6 I skulled a fairway wood which looked destined to skim into the water... it hit a duck, kicked left and stayed out of the water. The duck barrel rolled into the water and swam away. On 8 there was a road which crossed the fairway. It was kind of right in the middle of the landing zone for a driver. Almost immediately off the clubface, a car starts crossing the fairway. My drive one hopped into the windshield of the moving car. The car was moving from left to right and way it hit the car, it rocketed my ball out of bounds. Went from a perfect drive down the middle to hitting 3 off the tee.

Guess that was karma for hitting the duck 2 holes prior.

A long time ago on a crappy local 9 hole course I saw a girl in a thong bikini playing with I assume her boyfriend.

Not so strange but certainly odd to me just Monday our scramble team managed to get 16 straight pars and shoot an even par round.

We were playing once with our neighbor and on a par-3 he snap hooks a 7-iron that I didn't know you could snap hook a 7-iron. As the ball is about to hit the ground, it hits a half full Coors Lite beer can and ricochets off the can in the opposite direction and nestles up about 6 inches from the hole.

I don't know what was more unbelievable...the shot itself or that somebody actually left a Coors Lite beer can half full.

RH

I would have left the can full. Coors is god awful in my opinion.

So last night i'm getting ready to bash a ball on one of our short PAR4s that I can actually drive (when the tee box is forward) and i'm all waggled up and all of sudden I hear a jingle.....this giant mastiff comes trotting along in front of me followed by his girlfriend, a black lab.

They proceed to follow us for 3 holes til we get to the duck pond, where they proceed to go apeshit over teh geese and we spend the next 30 minutes (noone behind us) watching their foolishness. It was better than the golf game at that point

Years ago, in our college days, a buddy in our foursome was having a horrible round, and had a case of the runs before the round started. He hit a ball into the woods by a green and when he went to look at it, said finish the hole without me as he had other issues also. As we were walking off the green he came out the woods with his ball, a little more relieved, and wearing no socks.

Other one just happened last night. Men's league, running behind, and shotgun start on a par 3. Drive up as other team is already on box ready to hit. I grab a club, no warm up, and swing. Yup, you guessed it, my first ever hole in one. Was the closest to the pin hole and we were the first to go through that hole, so everyone got to see my accomplishment....and everyone got a free beer after the round. Guess you win some and lose some :)

Another couple we used to play golf with. They were doing the Oval Office in the golf cart.

or

Many years ago I was playing with 3 buddies in a course nearby in the Sierra. We could see/hear thunderstorms coming closer. But, what really had our attention was the sparks being thrown by our titanium drivers. We were laughing real big after almost each drive. They were really big sparks balls! Looked like fireworks. Looking back on it, I bet if we weren't wearing our golf caps that our hair would have been standing straight up. Because...on my approach shot to 18, as I addressed the ball with my 7 iron I was shocked to see my silhouette clear as day on the ground as the lightening bolt raced over my head into a nearby tree. Now, when I hear thunder nearby I stop playing and get inside. The air must have been very charged that afternoon.

Twenty-plus years ago I was walking a few holes late in the afternoon following a full day of classes. Two lady’s in a cart ahead of me drove straight down a 75 foot shale-rock embankment. They had to be airlifted to a trauma center.

The course, which no longer exists, couldn’t get the demolished cart out and left it there. The old school “out and back” routing snaked around a canyon. The lower end of the canyon was the return 9. Halfway through the second 9, you were eye level with the cart just off a fairway in the shale.

Lots of bear sightings on the courses here in Tahoe. Best one was at the course here in Kings beach springtime 3 years ago. Par 3 winding through the woods with dense bushes on both sides of the tee box. Leaning over to tee up my ball I hear something moving in the bushes. I look up and a pretty big bear walks out of the bushes an across the tee box right in front of me. He b-lines for the trash can and smacks it with his paw blasting it on its side. He then proceeds to eat whatever is in there and disappears into the bushes on the other side. This all probably took a total of about 15 seconds and he never even looked in my direction or made notice I was there. Took me a while to stop shaking so I could hit my shot. I was solo and the course was empty so no one else witnessed
