The putter has been confirmed by Cameron to be made for and used by Tiger Woods in 1997. 100% Authentic COA from Cameron and letter explaining coming soon! How exciting!!!

According to the factory, they can tell this putter was made for Tiger because of the type of shaft and the custom work necessary to fit this shaft in the putter. Apparently, Tiger had a special shaft apart from other players and this shaft is still in the putter. Given the shaft is slightly bent now, it was also likely done by Tiger ( we all know he has a bit of a temper ). All in All a truely special putter ... I am very excited to say it has been 100% verified !! Woo hoo !!

I am pleased this worked out as how you hoped. For any person who has followed Cameron putters very, very closely, especially putters from the 90s to mid 2000s, I would hope that one can understand concern as to the authenticity of any putter claiming to be made for Woods or any tour player. For every one legitimate putter, I have seen dozens that were fake and not authenticated while I was heavily involved at TCC. That said, this is a tremendous find and a putter that without a doubt was practiced by Woods at some point. Outstanding!

Ok after lots of investigation, I have found when Tiger used this putter. It was made for him in 1997 by Scotty and put into play after the masters in 1998 at the Bell South Classic. This was the last Beryllium putter he used in a victory. Watch the first few seconds of this video posted below. It shows him using this putter. It has the corded titleist grip and the white face stamp. After this tournament, Tiger switched to the platinum putter. I would post pictures, but I am on my cell and can’t do so.

Anyway... so this is the earliest known Tiger Woods putter in private hands that was tournament used...AND it was used for a win... in fact it was used for the ONLY win of 1998. So cool!!

Thanks guys... yep super exciting. As far as the value goes, I really am not sure. My guess is the putter is a “name your price” item. Eventually someone will come along that wants it more than I do. My guess given he used this in a tournament win in 1998, it’s likely worth 5-10x what his last non-tournament used back up putter sold for... you can do the math, but it’s a big number. It’s the earliest tiger putter that will ever be owned by someone else other than tiger/his family. It’s a moon shot I think guessing value.

Unreal, congrats. Out of curiousity, what grip is on it? Pebble half-wrap, Ping, or something else?

I've just come across this thread for read it for the first time and from start to finish.

What an absolute roller-coaster and what a fantastic story. History right there (albeit recent history).

With regards to value, whatever it is worth now, is only going to keep on increasing as time and years pass by.

Congratulations OP. You must be absolutely stoked. What a gem of a putter.

Looks like it needs to be refinished :taunt:.

Love it when all the haters chimed in claiming they know everything about the putter, just to eat crow once the COA was posted. Where are they now? And stop asking how much he paid for it, none of your business.

Congrats OP !!

thanks thanks thanks! super excited for sure!

i wanted to get the putter refurbished and made to look like new when I sent it in, but I was talked out of it by Scotty. He told me to leave it as is. Apparently they don't make those grips anymore nor do they make the special Tiger shafts anymore. Anyway, following his advice, i left the putter original as i had it.

When they called me to tell me the good news about what I had discovered, they asked me if I would let them buy it, trade it or just keep it on display at his personal Gallery/Museum. After thinking about it, I decided to keep the putter. I am not sure what I will do with it later, however for now, it will find a home somewhere in a special safe!
