Soon. Deadline for submitting applications last year was June 1. You will (should) get an email if you register.

I didnt even know there was a lottery like that. Could be a reason to go over the big waters first time since 83 or 84. LA Rams won the superbowl when I was there. But it would be one big project I suppose. Getting there, sleeping there, eating there.

Been in the lottery since early 2000s. The year I won we went down for a Monday practice round and ended up getting rained out. They wouldn't even let us see the course even though we were parked in the parking lot on the grounds (where the driving range is now). So we payed a ton of money for flights, hotels, food etc and saw Washington Road instead. Really disappointing. And I haven't won again since unfortunately, but I'll keep applying and hope that one day I get to see the course.

I've wondered this as well. For those who've been selected more than once, do you select a single day or check 'em all off?

I am in the same boat. Been in the lottery for quite a few years and haven't won anything. Sucks to see people win a few times in a row when some people never win.

I am another that has not won anything yet. 2 years ago, started playing volleyball with a previous teammates brother and sister in-law, they used to live in GA. They won 2 years in a row, followed by their friend winning the following year. Not sure I've ever been more envious and full of rage in my life.

Probably 20 years past the prime time to go anyway. I’m afraid for me it would be a let down compared to what I’ve seen on tv. Who knows. Probably won’t know.

Hawk. I’m close to being there with him. It’s been too long of a buildup for me. And the Older I get the less I like people and crowds. Exception maybe to take my boy.

Easy for me to say since I was able to go, but the 20 year wait was worth it for me (and probably because my daughter was able to go along for sure).

 

I figure I just keep entering and have zero expectations and who knows, maybe if I get lucky again my wife will want to tag along or my daughter will want to go back. Remember they aren't "crowds"! But I could see it getting a little claustrophobic on tournament days.

Been on lottery (other family members too...different addresses) for at least 10 years...zilch so far. Live in Southern California, FWIW.

Honestly, though, if I ever do win I'm not sure if I wouldn't flip the tickets...I don't have unlimited funds and would much rather spend a weekend in Bandon Dunes or Monterey Peninsula. Unfortunately, my brain works in a way that calculates current market value, not price paid. I've tried changing, but I can't!

My last name is the name of the tournament and I haven't been "selected" in all the years I've entered the lottery. Maybe 2020 is my year.
