Wood or Plastic Tees - Which do You Prefer?

As stated above I have been a big Epoch fan. However, I ran across a pack of Western Birch wood tees at GG and fell in love with the color. After a round and some use at the range, these things are great. They are very durable, I would say as equally durable as the Epoch plastic tees. I have yet to break one. Plus they look great.

I use Epoch 3.25" driver and 1.50" iron tees because a driver tee lasts 8-12 rds and iron tee lasts till it's lost. My current 1000 batch was purchased 3 years ago and still have enough to last a few more years. My wife uses them as well.

I love my new stingers. Was surprised they don’t break on every use.

One thing I love about Stinger tees is they help me know if I am properly hitting up on my drives. When my attack angle is around three degrees up Stiner tees last forever! When I start to get flat I break them a lot more. For me, a poor mans Trackman. :D

Lol, I've had that happen to me a couple times with wood tees and those type of condition tee boxes. That's why I use the plastic Champ Fly Tees now. They'll bend a bit but don't do anything unpredictable to my hands. Plastic tees last a whole lot longer as well. I usually buy the 100 pack off the auction site for around $10-$15. They're cheap enough that if I can't find my tee within 2-3 seconds i'm not too worried, I don't lose too many though, you get use to where they'll fly to.

Plastic. Basically I feel that shots are smoother with these kind of tees.

Yeah, I think these are going to eventually be in everyone's bags. I've been using the same one since this winter when I found it in Arizona. I don't know if it will ever break. I'm pretty sure I will lose it before that happens. I have steeled myself for the evenutal loss.

Used to roll with plastic...so now trying to slowly "lose" them as I go along.

I like the natural coloured tees - but I'm also working through a bag of smaller white tees for fairways/irons, so it's currently a jumble

Been a plastic guy for years. Read about stinger tees on here and I’m now a full convert. Used maybe 3 the last 4 rounds and a bag of 200 will last forever. No marks on the bottom and I like the small top to them. Thanks for the recommendation

I made the switch to them and I love them. Depending on how old one is, I could be seen as an "older" golfer. I'd like to think I have steady hands. My favorite thing about them is that I've played the same exact tee for 10+ rounds, and I don't even know what I'd have to do with a normal swing that could break it. I still have to use wooden tees for par 3's, but that doesn't bother me.

I see a lot of them get sold. I have just always wondered what affect that large cup would have.

I haven't noticed any adverse affects on my ability to drive the ball. Distance hasn't changed and ability to work the ball in either direction is the same. I did experiment a few times with putting the tee in at an angle (angled toward the fairway) because the packaging says doing so may result in longer drives. The few times I did this, it did result in longer drives, but just be a few yards, so I can't confirm that the extra yardage was due to the tee placement and not confirmation bias, extra oomph behind the swings, or some other factor. However, the only time I saw extra distance was when the angle of the tee was pretty aggressive such that it was difficult to get the ball to stay on the tee. So, I stopped doing that because I don't want to have to be a delicate with the ball when placing it on the tee. Teeing it up with no angle (or a perpendicular to the ground) works perfectly fine.

Been using the same set of plastic tees for years now. They just last forever! Given, unless I'm using my driver, which isn't used frequently, I'm hitting straight off the deck.
