Play a 10.5 deg Cleveland Classic that's been shortened to 44.5 inches. Improved center hits immensely after shortening it, and now I just feel confident off the tee. Doesn't go super long, but long enough for me as I hit more fairways now than I used to.

Still rocking my M1 460 but upgrading to the M5 sometime this month when I get around to ordering it. TM finally came out with one I really like the look enough to go for the upgrade. I still hit my M1 300+ on average and it's a great driver I'm just getting tired of too much white on the crown after seeing the new one. Also like less glare on the M5 with the matte finish.

I have two. I have a Callaway Diablo Edge which I replaced with Callaway Big Bertha a few years ago. No reason. Just had the urge to get something new and shiny. When I go on golf vacations I take it he Diablo. I don't think I have missed a fairway in years with it. To me, it proves that new clubs are mainly marketing hype.

I am posting just out of curiosity. Lately when I play with people I know or end up joining others at my local courses everyone seems to comment on my "old, non-adjustable driver". I am currently gaming a Callaway Diablo Edge Tour, 9.5*, with an Aldila VS Proto 60 s-flex shaft. I hit it about 280 yards, almost all carry. I have no intention of changing clubs anytime soon (I actually have a brand new backup, sames specs, in my basement).

 

When I ask those with adjustable drives many seem to have not been fit and are playing the thing on standard settings anyway. Not that I play from the short grass 70% of the time, but those I play with who have adjustable drivers don't seem to be driving it much better than me.

 

Just my observations.

 

Any others out there in the same boat as me.

I like non adjustable drivers. Get fitted and not mess with it again. I think too many times I get sideways with the driver and start moving things around

Been playing my Ping G30 for three full seasons. I believe I will say goodbye to it this year. The original plan was to get a G400 LST head and put it on my current shaft, but now I am getting pulled in by the Cobra F9 craze. I have hit it myself and loved the feel.

Titleist 905R is my current gamer. Just as long as my 915 D3 and my M1, but has a better look than both.

Titleist 913 d2 with an Aldila Shaft. Fitted into it years ago. Recently had a full bag fit at club champion and ts2 with a Fujikura atmos was best combo we could find, but it was only 8 yards farther. Stuck with my bought and paid for 913. Not too many complaints.

My best friend plays an original Cleveland Launcher Comp. Can't remember the exact year that one came out, 2006-ish I think? He plays to a 2.4 cap.

Ping G2...been in the bag nonstop since it was introduced-2003/4? My SS has dropped 5mph since then and I could probably use a bit more loft these days, but I haven’t found anything that rivals the confidence I have on the tee.

Cobra Bio Cell + for me. Went and upgrades to the F8+ last year and lost about 20 yards with the same shaft.

 

Took me all of 2 weeks to go back to old reliable. It may look like a childrens club but its deep!

XR16 pro... slightly over 3 years old

 

Tested all new drivers every year... some of them would be a tiny upgrade distance wise but the XR is still very long and swinging good it’s a fairway finder (for me with that shaft...)

 

 

Edit: look wise it’s definitely one of the sexiest drivers... matte black, small Head 450cc... it just looks awesome.

In my opinion better than the new crowns (Carbon optic everywhere...)
