If anyone has followed my WITB in the past, it's probably obvious I haven't carried a fairway wood on a consistent basis for about a year. I have a 915 F that stays in the closet, but I'm not very consistent with any make or model. It's most likely a mental thing, but I got to a point when the benefit of distance wasn't there and hitting my lowest lofted hybrid was more beneficial. I was at the PGATSS today and there was this 17° hybrid on the used rack for less than sixty dollars. I took it over and began hitting it the distance I would hit a 4 wood, but made better contact. I am most likely going to turn it down to 16° and see the trajectory and distance I can get out of it.

I use the SLDR 17* hybrid set at 16.5* as my "4 wood" and it's awesome. Very long and more forgiving than their newer hybrids

That's exactly what I'm going for, a "4 wood" type club. This model isn't quite as forgiving as my JPX 900 19° though.

Have you tried the JPX 900 16* model? I've hit the 19* and loved it but can't find a 16* to compare to my SLDR

I haven't yet. If this goes okay, I might look into it. I just didn't really want to spend a ton on an experiment. To be honest, this wasn't really even on my radar to try a lower lofted hybrid.

Just got the driver headcover in the mail today, in time for a round on the 4th of July! Looks great. Sunfish does a nice job with these.

Just saw the LHCC covers and where you are. I used to play for Lenoir Rhyne and we had playing privileges at Lake Hickory. I loved Loved LOVED that track. If I recall correctly we only had one day a week out there...maybe Monday (it's been 20 years ago). I was so bummed whenever I couldn't get out there due to weather or whatever reason.

I live less than half a mile from LR. You'll be happy to know that their men's and women's golf teams are frequently out at LHCC practicing during the school year.

Finally got the 60° today after 2 weeks of waiting. Had a lot of success with the 56° last week.

Wow great snags. I still feel the H4 is the greatest driving iron I ever played, I regret selling mine. Where did you get one, is it in mint condition?

encouraging statement!

posted on BST, a few kind folks on wrx reached out. one incoming is head only, supposed to be mint (seeing most 18º heads in mint to almost-new condition as not being used much or being a deco-only club in the bag?). will be paired to Accra Tour Z.

Apex UT 18º is also becoming an ubobtanium unless ridiculously expensive. snagged a new listing on the 'bay with best offer. even with crazy shipping from UK, still cheaper than most of recent auctions. :) this one is coming with NS Pro shaft (that i've never used). having been playing with a 21º, what an awesome clube.

Just played Tobacco Road, and the wallet took a hurting after the round in the pro shop. Incredible course if any of y'all have the chance to play it.

I played it about a month ago with two buddies. One felt it was too gimmicky. I thought there were a few crazy hole designs, but it's definitely different than anywhere else I've played.

That's a great club, and should be a good shaft for it.

I was using a Rapture 2i a bit earlier this year, but I ended up selling it, mainly because the shaft wasn't a great fit for me (it wasn't what you have).

I also don't really need a 2i, but I keep on buying them!
