> Anyone played Belvedere recently? What are the rules for play? I read some (old) reviews online and it stated that restrooms were for members only and there was no where to purchase something to drink unless you were a member as the clubhouse was off limits for the public. Are the public players really just to use the port-a-jons or whatever is available out on the course. Can I buy snacks, gatorade, beer? Thanks

What OW Said is spot on. No beer there though - at least not for non-members. It’s a nice place. a i usually go once a year.

They grouped based on the first 6 holes of each 9. The championship flight was won with a 65. Me and my partner ended up in the 1st flight and we shot a 72. We missed 2 tiger woods knee knockers or we would have shot 70. We we're 2nd place. Our prize was 200 bucks. 100 cash and 100 mitten tour credit. We're just gonna roll our winnings Into the next event.

The skin pot was 750 dollars. 2 skins. There was gonna be 3 but the only eagle of the day didn't spend the 40 bucks to get in.....

Haven’t posted in awhile......golf where I live in TX is not as good, quality-wise even though all year is open. That said, got a Masters invite for Sunday this year. Holy cow.! I’d say to put my ashes down at Amen corner, but some greens keeper would probably sweep me up and throw me in the trash. What an amazing experience.

I was just in TX visiting my sister, who lives outside Austin, and my parents, who spend about half the year down there. I only played twice, and just on 2 of 3 courses in my parents' retirement community, but I'd agree that the quality of the courses is generally better here. I've played a few other courses down there over the years, too, and some are pretty nice, but I definitely generally prefer the public courses I play up here to the ones down there. There's a lot to be said for being able to play year-round, though. Plus, the BBQ kicks the crap out of anything you can get up here!

Depending on how much of a haul it is. Last I heard Lynn Janson was going to be back giving lessons at The Legacy at Hastings (Formerly Hastings Country Club) in Hastings, Michigan. I don't believe he is back up from Florida yet and don't know for sure when he is headed this way. You could try the pro shop (269-945-2756) and see if they have heard form him yet, but I know they have a new management team for this year and don't know if they have talked to him.

I haven't personally had lessons from him, but have only heard good things from those who have. He is a on the course/range teacher who last I knew didn't do much if anything with video or launch monitors (in case you wanted more of a tech heavy teaching plan)

**Wedge Fitting:**

First time long time. I have a wedge fitting scheduled at Miles tomorrow. My current set up is a 49-56-60. The 56 has a bounce angle of 16 degrees, as does the 60. I am terrified to hit both from the fairway. However i am pretty deft with the 56 around the greens. I am comfortable hitting just about any shot type with it inside 50 yards, but once i get to 75 yards i am a catastrophe until i get to about 120-25 where i can start hitting my PW. My launch angle is pathologically high with all my wedges and short irons. I am a moderate swing speed player and have pretty high spin rates for my swing speed. And when I say moderate swing speed i mean real world moderate swing speed (driver 100-105), not WRX moderate swing speed (Driver 120).

My question for the gearheads in here is what type of wedge i should be looking at given that i play my golf in soft mushy michigan, and want to be able to start hitting my wedges with full shots from the fairway inside 120 yards?

IF you are playing in soft conditions bounce should only be helping. Its a swing thing. You should go less bounce because of your swing.

I've played that course many times. OW likely played from the red tees, which made it about 310, which sounds about right for D/7i..... /ducks.

Just kidding. Nice work. If you get off the tee it can be an easier green to approach, but there is some trouble.

I really like the original course, but I haven’t played the reversible. If you are there might as well play 36

I'd book the tee time, like today. Play Forest Dunes, the Loop is just ok.

I always drive to Miles of Golf for fittings. Its not really that far. I have heard Maple Hill is decent, but have never been.
