I don't want to spoil any news, and you may get to this later but the question is why not the ESZ? I'd speculate you'd want the lower spin option....

 

I went through a fitting already to decide between the two heads and the GBB Epic gave me more consistent numbers in spin, launch, and dispersion. I thought SZ all the way but numbers don't lie. Played 9 this morning and practiced, initial impression when I get home. Also another toy showed up :D Pics later

New toy based on a fitting. Epic standard head gave me much more consistent spin and launch then the sub zero. Yet again I thought I would be SZ but that wasn't the case. Have it paired up with the Rome 888 (special blue edition) at 42.75", D4.

 

After 10 shots off a tee spin didn't move from 3000-3300. Very impressed. The SZ for me went from 2900-3900.

I am surprised the SZ did not win out for the fwy, love the look, and easy to hit. The regular 3+ head was too big for my liking.

 

Nice sticks, personally hope they boot the M series from your bag.

 

I think they owe us an Epic hybrid, but it would take something to get the 815 out.

In regards to the SZ line I would have thought I fit into that the best if i hadn't gotten fit. Just goes to show how important fitting is and it's not solely about swing speed. No, i haven't really tested many in the last few years. Last utility iron I had didn't go so well so I swore them off. If I do give them a shot this year the Srixon, Cally Apex, and Cobra will be on the list.

You need to get that rogue max noodle out and try a real shaft ;)

My guess is you have an O Works micro hinge putter coming and I'm gonna say it's the R-line.

I've been rolling the ProType # 2 in the basement all winter. May get some play time next time out.

Good guess but no. I think th O works puts a good roll on the ball but I'm not crazy about the paint scheme. I acutally just left my club and right as I was leaving my new putter arrived from sunny Carlsbad :D pics later when I get home

I had a fitting in socal recently and the epic strong 3wd outperformed the SZ for me as well. Still can't find a hybrid that works better than the callaway apex utility

 

Epic subzero is squarely in the bag as the driver and I put the t1100 in both woods that shaft is the nuts

All of them are game changers and come US Open you'll see me in the field on Thursday. ;)

Never tried the Apex utility but like the look. Just never had much luck with utility irons off the ground vs hybrids. Even though Epic standard gave better numbes on the LM I might need to grab an SZ to try in the real world. It was the longest in my testing. :D I'd like to try a T1100 and compare to my Agera. So far nothing has beaten it but that's not for a lack of trying.

Not sure if you would like the T1100 as it has some counter balance to it, and it seems that you tend to like shafts with the balance a bit more towards the tip.

Didn't realize that, good to know. And you're right, heavily counter balanced shafts mess with me. I've heard nothing but positive things about the T1100 from those I know who have it. Project X is becoming a force in the shaft world.
