I like these more every time I take them out. The additional forgiveness does add confidence over the ball. You just feel like you can get away with it, if you put a bad one on it. Considerably more forgiving than the 55's and MP25's IMO.

Love the feel and sound. The size difference hasn't bothered me at all. The soles have really helped me in wet conditions. I'm interested to see how they do when it's dry. I did have a shot yesterday off a harder turf, under a tree, and it turned out beautifully.

I'm very happy I decided to make the game a little easier on myself. It's early but so far, I'm impressed.

[/quote] I understand the sarcasm, but I don't have a problem with someone deciding to protect their investment. This is the first set of irons the guy has bought since his ping i5s his stuff isn't always new, but it sure does look like it. He has a Ping G5 3 wood that if you didn't examine the sole you would think he just put it in play for the first time the crown is immaculate. since I have known him he has owned two sets of irons prior to the i-e s a set of Ping eye 2s and the for mentioned i5s. He played a 983K up until a couple years ago when he started playing a 913-D3. He plays twice a week pretty much year round weather permitting and maintains a 5 HC. he does not do it for the Ho factor, he holds on to everything, but his cars are gems as well. he has a late 90s Ford Bronco and a 2006 Cadillac STS that are show room quality. he just takes care of his stuff.

No they are dullish, darker steel finish.

I've noticed easy scuffing on the toe and sole, but no rust problems, no nicking or bag chatter.

Very, very happy so far.

If your miss is low or toe, these will make you look better than you are.

Iron in the soil can start to bite into stainless irons and leave minor rust spots. Some Bar Keepers Friend will take it off pretty easily though. Either buy the liquid or make a paste out of the powder variety and then use an old toothbrush to work the stuff into the head. It won't hurt the badges and will remove the rust lickty split.

Absolutely agree with the other poster that said you need to go hit them. My SS with a 6 iron with these averages at 90mph, and the Pro Modus 105 worked just fine with me. So if you're a slower swinger than that, be careful of these charts, you may want to try the Reg flex Pro Modus 105 to be honest.

thats what I am coming from, and I love my irons, but it was time to do a couple of things..

I have 5.5s now, and I need to move back to the 6.0
It was time for a re-grip
I am striking the ball very well so i needed a little better club
I miss the feel of a real ping. The forged iron is great, but I learned on Pings so i actually like the feel

So you see it is CLEARLY time that I NEEDED to get these clubs. I was doing my game a disservice by not doing so, right?
I mean we can't have my equipment holding me back right?
Somebody agree with me (even if its a lie)

The Ansers are a little smaller, particularly in the long irons. The i's should be more forgiving.

Buying new clubs is GOOD! There isn't a ton of difference between 5.5 and 6.0 though.

they are just soft enough for my straight shot to draw a little more than I would like
It has to do with how I load the club in the 6,7,8,9 irons

Just enough to fix that in the six inches right before the club strikes the ball.. you know the space between my ears....

I played 6.0 when i played my best, then gave the game up for 8+ years.
when I picked the game back up, i softened my shaft as I was in my late 30s at that point.
I have all the speed I did before i gave up the game now... so time to go back to the better club

I had I3 blades, and then S59s with 6.0s
so, this should totally be awesome.
Im not getting rid of my ansers though... they are just coming out of the bag. They will join the ISI-s that I have... going to get some of those display racks like you see in a store and build a deal in my garage/attic.. wife may make me put them in the attic... she is weird about things "on display"

Just had a wee feel of these today, ansolutely gorgeous.
I'd definitely buy a set if it wasn't for my annual Dues being, eh ... due.

Picked my custom set up on Monday and hit them at the range every day Tuesday-Friday. The first day wasn't great but the last 3 days were amazing. They feel great, the distances look really consistent at the range, and they are really easy to hit solid for players irons. They also seem really easy to flight. The regular ball flight is towering but not ballooning. I can't wait to play my first round with them next week. Maybe, just maybe, I've found a set of irons that I'll keep in the bag for a while. BTW, have you seen those new Cobra King pro CB irons. They would look awesome next to my King LTD driver....Dang it! I'm weak! Oh well, loving the ie1 irons right now. Even considering the U Wedge.

Tested them the other day. Same as my i25s except for 1 difference. Higher flight. Like the darker colour. Come on Ping guys get this thread past 2k posts and more than those deluded Srixon Z745 boys!
