I went 3 and 4 iron in the fly pro and the rest VPC. Gonna wait for the player irons to come out next year :)

Any fairway wood reviews?

 

The fairway is great. I have one in 15 degrees open to 14.

 

Sound/Feel: crisp, solid, responsive lively... The head gives you a sense that you are making very good contact. Not too loud, not too muted and fits the ball speed.

 

Flight: penetrating but workable. The club allows you to hit a myriad of shots. It seems to launch with good mid spin but very good ball speed if that makes sense.

 

Shaft: I ordered the Tensei 70x but they sent it with the stock 65 tensei fwy shaft. I'm a little bummed and will bring this up. Either way.. It's not a bad stock shaft. It feels very smooth and responsive to the different swings you put on the ball. I love MRC shafts and always like testing out the Blue profiles. The stock tensei feels very similar to what you'd expect. It seems more stable than my 60x unlimited in the pro driver.

 

Overall: very happy with the purchase. The color is beautiful. So much of the clubs performance is string comfortable and confident with it so you make an unconscious swing at the ball. I know that doesn't work for me or anyone else on this forum because I buy too many clubs, but I can't wait to get used to this thing because it checks all the boxes.

 

Question: will Nike be good about sending me the shaft I ordered? Or is customer service and issue?

I like the flat one. More like Newport as mentioned earlier. Also, I have heard that may may do an early limited release and allow for a few custom options. More to come...

Hi, my local golftown has receive the fly pro irons. Hit them for an hour on a gs2.

 

Heres my quick review

 

Blade lenght is much longer than a vapor pro, but thicknsst and off set is reasonable.

 

Feel is fine for a cast iron.

 

Distance control was absolutely weird:

 

I hitted at least 4 shots over 190 (total)

They didnt feel particurly flushed

 

My average of good shot was 176

 

Heel/thin/toed was 150

 

This sucks, although i like the extra distance, variation is too large

 

I currently play ping anser 2012

7 iron avg 167

probably will be a while before anyone plays with them enough to give any kind of real response to that question. Im curious about that as well since I thought the finish on the VPC was literally terrible in terms of holding up.

Anodized and PVD finishes are surface treatments only and are not the best wear resistant finishes.

 

If you practice where the soil has a sandy makeup expect accelerated wear on the dark finish at the contact point. Especially if you do not clean the club face between shots.....like me.

Hit the Vapor Fly Pro Saturday morning with the stock Diamana blueboard (I think) at 60g Stiff. Shaft was definitely too light and I need an XS, but the club felt great. Off the face felt almost as buttery as the King LTD Pro. Sound was great & it looks really good behind the ball both in color and size/shape. I'm hoping to try it with a shaft that suits me to see how I can blast it. Definitely one of the drivers I'm looking out for to buy before the season starts.

 

My current setup is a Callaway X460 Tour with an Aldila NV 65-S. << I've been hitting this club for ~10 years not knowing much about shaft/head combos, etc.

I'm very happy with the regular Vapor Fly but I love the Pro sound/feel!!!! I know the regular Fly is a better club for me but the Pro is more fun to hit
