Which Accessories Identify You As A Hacker?

Played in a tournament a few days ago and was paired with two strangers in the lower flight. Both were mid-teen handicaps and both had matching iron covers to their respective iron brands! Cobra & TM iron covers! One guy played out of his mind and shot 82. The other shot 103. But the first thing I thought of when I saw them was this thread.

Any clubs or golf balls produced by Nike. I'm sure there are great players out there who use Nike, but since 2000 every time I've played with a guy who used anything Nike (other than shoes or a shirt) he was a hack. Maybe it's a coincidence.

Yes, but we need to realize that sometimes you can't tell. If the fellow you're paired up with has iron covers, golf tubes and a ball retriever you should bet heavily.

 

i'm a hack, and I know it as I play off a 15... but, and I don't see why people don't cover their irons, but, I flipping cover my irons. I can NOT stand the bag chatter clatter, and think that every time the irons hit each other, their value decreases...

 

maybe people don't use iron covers because they can be a nuisance taking on and off during around.

maybe people don't use iron covers because they're just gonna buy a new set of irons in 6 months anyway.

maybe people don't use iron covers because they think they'll look like a hack.

 

I don't really care for the look of them all on, but that's not what they're there for...

 

All's I know is that using iron covers -- again, for me and a few fellas I know and play with -- protects the value of the clubs AND reduces that annoying/grating bag chatter clatter.

I play Slazenger Practice balls in the winter... or if I've already lost more than 2 good balls... hard to go wrong for new 2-piece balls 3-dozen for $5. I also still rock my Daly Lion driver head cover, but I've had it for going on 10 years and like it MUCH more than I've ever liked Daly himself.

the course that I live on has a couple of large, uh... species removal experts. one is around 10-12 feet. the other.. we arent sure... I took this from about 60 yards away... and its hard to judge from the picture... but this ole girl is BIG....

 

we think she is 13-14

 

one of the guys i play with (younger kid, 18ish, great amateur player, offered a couple of D2 full rides) said that when they were fishing in the same lake in thier 10 foot paddleboat/canoe/whatever.. that one swam up next to them and was longer than the boat. big enough that the girlfriend insisted that they get out, and she won't go back in the boat.

yeah, they might... talking amongst themselves on a message board. "he needs a laser" DRWL (deathrollwhilelaughing)

 

 

but you know, there might be an entire thread on that message board about that laser. called something like LaserRoll... it may even keep stats of how many birds, frogs, and fish he/she eats with it... may even separate it by different ponds he/she goes too.

 

plus could keep stats like "kills gained swimming" and "kills gained death rolling" could be an entire network of laser gators that even compare stats.... but you know as well as I do, the customer service will just kind of die out, and the unit will be rendered useless..

I also thóught iron headcovers until i had my clubs in back of van with the heads grinding on the metal floor every time turned a corner. Made me wish I had some!! So they are a necessity for transporting clubs if you don't have a car

I'm not all that when it comes to golf, but I personally like the ball marker on the glove. Most juniors i play with in the scratch to plus range use them as well.
