Looking for honest answers: are the golf hi tops comfortable? I like on course drip as much as the next guy but it still has to make sense and be comfortable. Just can't imagine playing a full round in hi tops when the lows seem so much more practical.

Not really. Anyone who says a high top is good for golf is fooling themselves. Its purely fashion and personal choice and not for any positive athletic advantage.

The 4 and 5 mid/lows are about as high as you can practically go and even then you get rubbing on your achilles during proper ankle pivots and etc.

I agree that high tops don't provide any advantage in golf but I don't understand those saying that they are a disadvantage, other than possibly causing rubbing discomfort (which can be solved by socks).

I definitely feel that high tops stabilize (as they are designed to do) the ankle. I couldn’t imagine golfing in high tops. Especially given the way my hi-top street versions feel while I am walking. When I use the ball, mid tops was as high as I could go while feeling that I still had enough mobility to move fluidly. Personally, I wouldn’t say they are a disadvantage, however socks will not help the discomfort. I would feel on my trail leg as I finish the swing.

To me it doesn't matter low top or high tops.  It's all about the bottom of the shoe and the padding.  4's and 5's have such a hard bottom that make them too heavy for walking golf.  11's are perfect, 12's are really good. 1's are good for a spikeless shoe.  My 4's and 5's feel like I'm wearing boots.

Wondering if there is any chance at a re-release of the Jordan 11 Golf?  I have a pair of dead stock jordans I'm thinking about selling and maybe splurging on a pair of concord golf's.  But I don't want to do that if there any chance of a re-release.  Somewhere in this thread recently zona mentioned a big return of a style he'd never thought would be seen again.  Wasn't sure if that applied to the Jordan golf brand or the rumors of a retro tw release this spring.

I was out of the shoe game when the 11's released. They are on the top of my list if they ever come out again

Looks like 2015 was last time they were released in a golf version. Definitely looking forward to more 12 colorways too

That's dissappointing.

I'm a big fan of AJ12, but I'm burnt out from the many releases last year.  Not likely to pick up another CW.

AJ6?  No thanks.  Outside of the Infrared CW, I don't much care for the AJ6... certainly not a fan of the low top version.

Well... I guess it's more AJ1 lows for me.

Definitely a bummer for most hoping for the 11s. Im good on 12s too for now. Have 5 colors, a couple that haven’t even been on the course yet. But if they release another colorway I like everyone knows how that ends.

Yes. It was stupid. Returned the AJ1 High's that same week to the store. The 4s are even too high and I just wear them for fun.

Yeah... same.  I say that I'm done and then Jordan releases a CW I can't say no too.

If Jordan can run, jump, cut, crossover and fly in high tops, I think we can play a round of golf in them.

Basketball and golf are different sports. Basketball players like them because it provides additional stability in case they roll the ankle. Unless you're Tony Finau running down the fairways at Augusta, you don't really NEED hi tops to play golf since you don't need the ankle stability. Basically, in basketball hi tops provide some kind of tangible value vs lows, not sure that actually exists in golf. But I've never worn a pair of hi tops on the course which is why I asked the question.

I was being cheeky. But I honestly think people way overblow the "discomfort" of a hightop golf shoe. It's an athletic sneaker, designed to be comfortable while moving and twisting. And if high tops were truly that much more uncomfortable than low tops, a lot more basketball players would wear lows, because studies actually show that high tops don't really prevent sprained ankles anyway.

#fact

For as much as I love my kicks (on and off the course), highs or anything too bulky are just not practical when it comes to golf.

Man... idk. The 6's are the best Jordan release, 10's being 2nd, 11's being the 3rd. Best looks, TW sole. I have all 3 and there is something special about them. I need to sell my infareds now for 1K just in case.

But I'm also in the camp the AJ1 is a dime a dozen look.

Cool like I said is different from person to person, but when you say is purely fashion, is like saying Pants is purely fashion compare to shorts or vice versa.

Purely fashion is if you see someone wear a LV AF1 on the golf course or some Nike OFF-WHITE that's fashion.
