I had to take down another Leyland Cypress tree yesterday that was dying from bark 

beetles. Cobi got so hot and tired from watching me that she grabbed a floatie and 

got in the pool and watched from there.

employee reviews are like 💩 place to work.

 

dealing with the public is a nightmare now. but, a job is a job.

 

he'll take home under $2,300 per month, so knew he'd be living in his car. i think he's being naive about how much grief the local constabulary is going to give him as a homeless guy and the logistics of being homeless. no address, credit cards, bank accounts, drivers license, with a mail drop only, laundry, etc. guess he'll join a gym to take showers.

 

wonder if his tesla/apartment is paid for? if not, probably $800/month for that.

 

no health insurance. don't get hurt.

 

what's the over/under? 3 months?

he fires most everyone doing supercharger work. says, with a straight face, they’re going to focus on maintenance and expanding current sites.

 

there’s very few maintenance issues and the sites were not built to be expandable.

 

he’s telegraphing failure, just when everyone else in the charging business was coalescing around a standard charging interface. they are not happy.

I interviewed with Target after college graduation and heard the same thing, they work you to the ground as some manager trainee.

There's something about the concept of "living out of your Tesla." Where have we gone?  The world is a mess.   I just try to take some solace out of the fact that there's nothing I can do about it.  If you can call that solace.  We can bemoan the fate of the world here on a golf forum. (Well actually we can't.  That will be our next thread qualifier) ***NO BEMOANING THE FATE OF THE WORLD***.   So screw that.  

 

What about mortality?  Anybody here think about mortality?  I do.   More than I used to.   I'll be working in the yard and suddenly I'll wonder about what it would be like if I dropped with a Widowmaker.   Not for me so much.  I'm good.  I don't really care.   Been a nice ride.  Nothing special, I guess.  But if it's time, it's time.  Basically, I'd just want the Old Ball and Chain to be comfortable.  And I'm pretty sure she would be, at this point. 

 

So what do we do?  I play a little golf and watch a little TV and get involved in fixer-upper projects around the house.   Went to a flea market today.   Old people trying to sell old things to other old people. I scored a Starting Lineup Arnold Palmer action Figure.  Never been opened.  But the clubhead had separated from the shaft and is now just floating around in the box.  

 

Interested in the universe.  I watch television shows and read books that I can't understand.  The other day the wife was amazed by how little I had progressed in a book by Stephen Hawking.  I believe that in her mind she was seeing Stephen King, but I didn't say anything.  I often don't say anything.  It's easier that way.

When I was a kid I walked by the backyard of Mrs. Bandy.  I noticed her on her knees weeding her garden.  10 minutes later I walked by the front of her house and there was an ambulance there.  She died of a heart attack while in her garden, in her 40's... which was ancient then.  I came to realize I was probably the last person to see her alive.
