Moved down to Harrison Township from Grand Blanc a while ago and I am still looking for a cheap executive type course to hit up when i can (young kid and work, I don't have much time/money). I used to go to Heather Highlands and play their short course so is there anything like that around the area? Right now i just go to Bello Woods for a quick/cheap 9.

I also live in Harrison Twp. The closest would be the par 3 course at the Metropark on 16 mile road or in Fraser check out Rammler. They have a par 3 course out front that is relatively cheap and the shots vary from 75-175 yards depending on the day.

Current WITB

TAYLORMADE M5 9* (Tensei Pro white 80tx)
PING i25 14* (KuroKage Proto 70xx)
SRIXON ZU85 2i (C-TAPER 130x)
SRIXON Z785 4-PW (C-TAPER 130x)
CALLAWAY MD5 50S (C-TAPER 130x)
CALLAWAY MD5 55W (C-TAPER 130x)
CALLAWAY MD5 60X (C-TAPER 130x)
TAYLORMADE Spider Tour Black (no alignment aid)
BRIDGESTONE TOUR Bx

Anyone used the trackman range at Carl’s? Thoughts on it? Went today and thought was great way to track stats and get feedback but felt like the distance was a lot shorter then normal

Me and a buddy checked it out last week. Pretty cool, just wish I could review my shots once leaving.

I thought my distances were short but my buddy was knocking them out the park, lol. So I just figured I sucked.

I forgot about Rammler, thanks for that.

We already pay for a different park pass but next year im sure we will get the Metropark pass so i'll have to check that out.

Can't believe I'm going to suggest this but for the lowest of the low budget check out Warfield Greens in Fraser. Its only 9 holes and I think its $10/$12 to play. Greens are dead flat and about a 2 on the Stimpmeter. its the kinda place that if they ever put weed killer on the fairways there'd be nothing left!

There's a bunch of courses 2nd tier courses in that area that don't cost an arm and a leg, Maple Lane, Plum Brook, Fern Hill, and St. Clair Shores. They'd be happy to take your money for 9 holes at any of these places.

Warfield looks like it would be awesome for a 'leave work early and hit a few' type of course.

I need to check out the other ones you listed. Ive enjoyed Bello Woods since they are usually not super busy and they are pretty cheap.

I've been there a couple of times and checked pin distances with my rangerfinder. Yardages from the bay I was in were pretty accurate.

Played 18 had Sanctuary Lake today. Three of the greens we're closed and they had temporary greens up for them. It was just nice to get out and hit the ball around.

Played TPC Michigan in Dearborn yesterday for the first time -- cart path only, but it was in pretty good shape for February. Playing it from the tips in breezy conditions and mid 50s temps made it a challenge. It seems like it's a pretty tough test even in average conditions, especially when the leaves come in on the trees. One kind of odd thing that I noticed is that I was hitting either wedges or long irons into every hole. I don't think I hit my 7 or 8 iron all day, and I usually wear those clubs out. That was probably more about the conditions than the course.

Tough track. It's really nice, but I just never really cared for it all that much for some reason.

Reminded me a little bit of The Bear. Small greens that leave tough up & downs if you miss. Definitely a second shot golf course.

It's a good challenge, and they usually have some slick paced greens happening. I'm playing there in August. Jack's designs are shot makers risk/reward style.
