Oh so you're saying you're seeing MORE spin with S300? My mistake I misunderstood. And I've always been a fan of going about a degree flatter than the lie board tells me to. Every time I've been fit I've been fit into 3* up and it's hook city with that lie angle. 1-1.5* up works well for me though.

The best way to fit for lie angle is by not using a lie board but drawing a vertical line with a sharpie on the ball and seeing which way it leans. The ball is gone by the time the club digs into the ground/contacts lie board.

Does the mark show on the face w/o tape on the face?

Yes and it will rub off. Kind of the same as when you hit a ball in the spot where you mark it, if you do so with a sharpie.

Well I got it in hand today and it is pretty nice. Super clean and the new finish looks great. I am very partial to my s55's and wanted to wait until this came out before I pick a replacement between the new i200 and the iBlade.

Pics! or or didn't happen.

Just kidding, that's great new. I will most likely be going i200 as I need the extra forgiveness. Can't wait! Any hints to release date?

Hit the i200 7 iron at lunch today. Only had time for about 10 swings which was shafted up with a kbs 120. All i can say is feel off the face is excellent. Top line looks thinner than my i20's for sure. Very excited to hit these again. Distance and forgiveness were right on par. No doubt that these will be in my bag one day.

They were at dicks sporting goods. I wanted to try the one length cobra irons and they didn't have any lefty's so I said no biggie, really waiting to buy anything until after the i200's come out. He said hold up I got one in today. I was shocked. Sure enough there it was. I had 4 people from my office waiting on me in the car so had zero time with them. But the little I did, I was impressed.

Interesting how ping abandoned their experiment with a "forging " after the Anser irons. Never really took off in the Asian market as the forging crazed Japanese golfers never accepted it as a true carbon steel forging. Add to that it was one of the harshest feeling clubs ever produced, which sent them back to what they do best castings with CTP.

A couple of reps also claim that ping did an experiment where they had prototypes forged as well as cast and only 1 tour player was able to pick the forging..Real CTP in casting and fake one in forging.

IMO, most forged cavity backs (regardless of manufacturer) do not feel nearly as good as Ping S55 and iBlade with the CTP.

That said, MB designs, with considerable mass behind the sweet spot, feel the best when center struck, particularly Mizuno MP line.

I believe it's clubhead design, specifically a concentration of mass behind the sweet spot that produces the feel we all crave, not the manufacturing process (forged v cast). Ping gets you there with the CTP so you get good feel in a design that allows them to move the weight around for forgiveness.

Isn't it odd that the clubs are up on the Japanese site but not in the US? I'm not in the business but my observation has been that usually PING's releases are very well coordinated and executed and this time around seems to be ... different. Basically I want to know when I can get a set!

To the contrary, ping's last 3-4 i series release have been revealed through subpar leaked photos via social media. Westwood gave us a glimpse of the i20s and it's been a shat show of release announcements for the i series ever since IMO.

Hopefully they can do these i200s justice with their initial US announcement.

But until then,

But I don't know if the shaft is causing the spin or the toe shot is causing it. The iBlade is supposed to have a little more spin anyway. But the 7-W will just fall out of the sky. And be short. Sometimes WAY SHORT. I hit a wedge yesterday that came up 10 yards short of the green.

That was my experience with iBlade as well. Shots that I flushed would fall out of the sky and ones that reached the green would overspin with the 8-PW. I remember hitting a PW in normal conditions with little wind into a hole from about 130, landing it PAST the pin and having 15+ feet left after it ripped back. The set I tried had PX LZ 6.0's though and I did not get along with the LZ at all.

I had a set of iBlades kind of like that too. ;)

I'm excited to try the i200's to see if they are more in line with the i-Series. From the pics so far they look like an S55 on 'roids to me, but I'll have to hold them in my hand to know.

Can't wait to demo these against the s55's. Need something to knock the CB3's out of the bag for 2017.

Would be very interested in your results. I currently play the CB3's but am a Ping guy from way back (i3 O-size).

Made a quick stop into GG today and was able to compare the i200 to the ie1 side by side. Sole and topline were definitely wider on the i200, but otherwise looked great. Didn't hit the i200, but didn't have any reason to. I love my ie1.

Which would make them larger than i25???

That is NOT what I want to hear...
