JP Wedges are back

It looks like JP Wedges are coming back out of hiding! This link as well as new photos were posted to their FB page this morning.

I'd be interested to see if these are available outside of the fitting experience. The price for that is just too rich for my blood!

I was wondering what happened to him...so he's officially with Titleist. Bob Vokey is getting up there in years and will pass the torch to him eventually.

Seems like way to much going on in a wedge.

Be interested to see what the response is after he's been MIA for so long. Wedges look ok i guess but for the price? Not so sure about that.

I couldn't find the price for the fitting? Was it on the page somewhere.

Yeah, from the menu click on experience and then scroll to the bottom right above the book now button.

It's $2K. It's at the bottom.

I guess the Titleist venture did not work out.

Whoops. Looks like he is pricey Bob Vokey - Acushnet set him up with his own division. I guess the PXG phenomenom and their upscale clubs introduced last year on a limited basis had them thinking this would work.

Interesting concepts, but for a wedge? That's a lot of extra work to get the weight of the club in the right place. But they are pretty and that counts with a lot of people.

Looking at it, I bet the pricing structure is about $500+ per wedge, more for custom. Wonder if the anti-pricey crowd will lay out or post their anger.

I have PXG irons but laid out on the wedges. Not about the money, it's about the fit, compared to my other favorites - Edel and Miura K Grind. WIth JP, I hope those that buy them, enjoy them.

After reading the article about the fitting, even if I wanted to purchase them, I'd make certain that I had a consistent swing and was not planning on changing anything ... or you might be getting fitted for another set of $2k wedges in another year or two. Another issue for those who say, "Well, I will try them and sell them on eBay or WRX classified" ... used custom wedges don't have great resale. Buy 'em, Keep 'em.

$2,000 is cheap considering you are getting 3 hand ground wedges fit to you specifically by one of the top 3 wedge specialists in the world. Bob Vokey charges $2,000 for his wedge experience and its the same deal 3 hand ground wedges fit by Voke himself. $2,000 is a bargain.

www.independentgolfreviews.com/jp-wedges-by-titleist-brand-launch.html you are welcome

Crazy.. I was at that bar he's talking about last week! haha. My GF lives down the street from there, which means I live down the street from there half the week lol. Pretty cool to know where his roots started.

They're beautiful wedges, but they're a bit progressive in the idealistic sense for me. Would I get them if I had that kinda disposable income? Sure. But there's rival craftsmanship out there that I'd choose as well. Best wishes to the hometown guy! That's awesome.

2000$usd for three custom hand made wedge.

Yeah it's pretty much a joke and going after the PXG crowd. I think more and more companies will offer high dollar lines after PXG showed there is a U.S. market for it.

I just don't see the high end market being as good as it was 4 or 5 years ago. Many of the biggest Ho's have slowed down or quit. It almost feels too late to the party. It's like everybody is looking for those few PXG players, and in my opinion many of those guys were late to the high end Ho game.

To be honest, I'd take the old JP look over these new ones any day. Adding tungsten plugs to adjust CG looks better to me than this multi-piece construction thing he's got going on now. And like swiz just mentioned, I can't see spending anywhere near this for clubs that will be worn out in at most 2 years and probably sooner. I like to have some nice clubs, ones that not everyone has that are special to me. I have a custom Byron putter that I love and I could even get on board with a $2-3k Scotty 009 or a custom set of Miura irons, but those would both last much longer than a $2000 set of wedges.

I typically enjoy a new release from Titleist but looking at the whole thing, my thoughts are just...meh!

Nice for JP to partner up with Titeist and finally bring something out but my Vokey's will do me just as I am sure they will continue to do the majority of the guys gaming them on Tour.
