Im hoping the Spin Will be back to the SM2 level.... Every SM since then has been getting better and better but nothing like the SM2... The SM6 were close.

I also hope for a 56 and 60 F Grinds with Less bounce - 56.14 doesn't work for me chipping off tighter lies - S is fine but I love the F Grind ... That would be my dream.

The SM2 were the highest spinning wedges I could find at the time...

However the Nike VR Red Wedges and the original Callaway X-Forged with MD grooves not only felt incredibly soft due to them being forged, but also their spin numbers were untouchable.

I still have the Tour Finish X-Forged wedges in the bag... nothing cab kick them out. Once they need replacing I'll be looking at MD Forged for sure... another fantastic Callaway wedge.

I actually like the look of the Black finish. I think I'll end up with a set of Raw and a set of black.

I agree with some of the posters above, a lower bounce F Grind 54/56 would be great!

I am also hoping for a smaller wedge, no need to get bigger than the SM6

When the SM6 came out, how long was it before the Raw option was available on the Vokey site? It's time for a new 58 degree. I am debating an SM6 Raw or a Fourteen RM-22 Raw, however, if the SM7 will have that option, I may delay until it's available to try out

I tend to remember that it was a month or two after the retail release.

A few points from me -

I'll be so disappointed if they're larger heads like on SM5. Really disliked them; thought they looked like spades. SM6 were on point.

As for the Raw argument, we're just paupers getting second rate equipment. It's always the same! They're all at it. I hit shots with a tour player's raw SM6 and concur they're very different from retail.

Finally, I hope Vokey/Titleist find a way of making it easier to demo different wedge shafts. It's impossible to do so and I'm sure there are other great wedge shafts out there that you essentially just have to take a risk on if you want to give them a go. If it doesn't work you're paying 40% on top of what you just paid to reshaft - annoying.

Here's hoping we get plenty of options and wedge fitting catches up a little bit on the shaft front.

I actually just had a fitting a couple weeks ago for some irons and when we finished I hit some wedges as well as I was looking for something that might help with a little more spin and mentioned it to the fitter that its surprising that no one has come up with a system yet for wedges similar to what they do with irons. A fitting cart with some wedge heads and some screw in shafts would be great and like you said would save some cost on tinkering with trying to find a shaft you like in the wedges.

Cleveland actually did this with the RTX 2.0's. My store had a full cart with every loft/bounce option head and about 10 different wedge shafts with fitting adaptors. Not sure why they did away with it, it was an awesome setup.

Talked to the owner of a golf shop recently, asking him if he organises wedge fittings and he told me that he had organised a fitting together with a Titleist rep. The rep came with a huge bag of Vokey wedges with all grinds, bounce, shaft options possible. And exactly two guys showed up....

They're the same grinds and everything as before, just adding the D grind. The black finish will be black on the inside so it won't fade as bad.

There's probably info in the 9 pages of this thread, but is the D-Grind like a K-Grind "lite"? If the SM7's are that close to the SM6's, then I'll get some SM6 raw and be done with it. Perhaps there may be no sense in waiting for the SM7 raw.

D Grind to me looks like a high bounce M Grind. Could be wrong though.

I see no difference w/ SM7 vs SM6 besides maybe aesthetically?

Looks like there has been a change in the weighting. I'm not sure what it is actually called but the raised section on the back of the club where they have shifted the centre of gravity has been turned round. If you had the SM6 in the bag, the section is more of a shallow n shape whereas now it's a shallow u shape...that's probably a really bad of describing it but I can't seem to attach side by side pictures which show the difference.

All that said, it seems to be a case of evolution rather than revolution.
