I can't see Hideki going to Cobra, Srixon is part of Dunlop and XXIO so I would think he'd want to play for a company with roots in Japan. Koepka or Day would make the most sense in terms of demographics.

Jason Day resigned with TaylorMade in September 2016 along with DJ.

Yes, but they are under new management today so it's possible that things could change. I don't see DJ as a fit for Cobra. Day is a bit old but he has international appeal from a marketing perspective and he did wear those Nike Jordan 1 golf shoes this year.

Driver - Callaway Paradym
Woods - Callaway Paradym 3W
Hybrids - XXIO 10 3H, 4H, 5H
Irons - Callaway Paradym 6-52*
Wedge - PXG Forged 56**
Putter - Ping TYNE C
Ball - Titleist AVX

Won’t be Day. Puma owns Cobra, remember? No way he signs huge contract then breaks for Cobra/Puma

Heard a rumour from someone at Cobra this week that they have a men's top 10 player in the world coming on staff for 2018.

very interesting.Any thought to who it may be?

Based on the current world rankings my guess would be Henrik or Hideki but its just a guess and I have no idea what their current equipment contract status is.

Hideki's contract with Srixon ends this year.

It would be a big score for cobra to land Hideki. I don't know what their presence in Asia is like right now but I imagine it would explode if they pick him up.

That would be a big blow to Srixon!

JT possibly, but I don't ever see him leaving Titleist

Everyone leaves Titleist eventually.

Except for Adam Scott. He has been with Titleist since he turned pro in 2000.

A few more guys come to mind as well. Charley Hoffman and Steve Stricker. I haven't done the full historically research of these guys but since I have been around golf they have remained with Titleist!

Prior to Taylor Made I believe he had a stint with Palmer irons and he was using a Callaway metal woods. He struggled badly with the Taylor Made driver when he switched from Palmer and it caused some problems re: contract etc.

Seems like Titleist always grooms young guys (although I think they like Spieth/Thomas on squad), then when new big money contract opportunity and the decision to keep a player, they stick to their ways and let them go, and make sure they continue to play their ball to keep some sort of tie with that player. Besides TMAG, really who spends lots on endorsements on multiple players (PGA tour)? I just think of companies like Cobra (yes fowler, most tied up around him), Mizuno, even Ping doesn't have to big a staff. Seems like TMAG's thing, and as mentioned I just always kinda thought Titleist worked the way I mentioned, may be wrong...but in general doesn't seem to be most OEM's marketing strategy.

What is funny if you look at the photos this week here on WRX on the Sanderson Farms tournament you will find a lot of TM bags with few TM clubs. Good example Alex Cjeka. He was with Cally but went to TM and still has his 2013 Forged X Callys in the TM bag and I saw some others too. I guess they maybe have metal woods contracts and a bag contract

Just like in the real sports, players go where they can get the most money. Period! At that level those guys think they can play anything, but it doesn't always work out. I still think Tiger wins 20 majors had he stayed with his early equipment, same with Rory. I don't see Rory dominating with the TM ball, but he has 100 million reasons to say it's the greatest thing ever.......LOL

Looks like Chris Kirk is no longer on staff with PXG. Travis Mathew bag and playing mixed setup of Titleist, TaylorMade, Mizuno and Ping.

Was 49th in OWGR when he signed with PXG in Jan 2016. Currently 152nd.

PXG and Kirk mutually agreed to part ways. A bit of chicken and egg here as a reference was made to his drop in the OWGR last year. I'm sure some would be happy to blame the PXG clubs in his bag as the cause while others will point the finger at Kirk.

I would blame both, PXG makes good irons but they are likely different than Kirk is used to playing and their woods imo are lacking compared to the other manufacturers.

Have any PXG staffers gone up in the rankings since they signed?
