Best thread ever.

Below are my top four accomplishments in 2017, all personal bests:

I shot my first bogey free round, a 69.

Finished in a tie for 4th at my club championship.

Had no score higher than 80 in competition (ten rounds).

Finally got below hcp 3. Was a 2.9 for one or two weeks.

Hey chopper, what are you hitting there?
Callaway Rouge Sub Zero 9°
TM SLDR S 17° 4-wood
Mizuno MP Fli-Hi 21° driving iron

Dynacraft (?) 24° 4-iron
Titleist AP2 710 5-pw
Wilson FG Tour PMP 52, 56, 60°
Rife 460 Tour Blade

After how long does being "out of form" turn into "a bad golfer"?

Since there's no where else to put this

I left the driving range yesterday afternoon, headed back my house which is one hole away from the range. No one was around, so I decided to play this one hole on my way home. Par 5. Hit 2 off the tee. Both great drives (for me at least). Hit my first ball in the fairway from 200 out into the middle of the green, which rolled about 10 feet and disappeared. Hit my second ball green high. Got up to the green and didn't see my first ball, so chipped my second ball up and it rolled in. Walked to the hole and found both balls. One albatross and one eagle ...on a single hole that didn't count towards a score. Now the golfing gods will surely punish me the next time I play that hole in an actual round of golf.

Congratulations for the near impossible feat. Golf Gods work in mysterious ways.

I made 3 consecutive eagles in a Ryder Cup style weekend my friends and I put on this summer. Course has back to back par 5s that I reached in two (tees are a lot shorter than I would usually play to account for all handicaps) and I chipped in for eagle on the following par 4. I was 2 down with 5 to play and ended up winning the match because of this stretch. Have to say that was a pretty fun 3 holes!

Titleist TSR2 - TPT Nitro 16lo

Taylormade SIM Ti 5w - Fujikura Ventus Black 9x

Srixon ZX5/ZX& Mkii 5-PW - Project X 6.5

If three eagles in a row does not crush the opposition then nothing will. Great stretch, maybe as rare or more rare the a hole in one.

I might very well be the best 290 lb. 50 year old golfer born in Riverside, California in August of 1967.

I believe that is called a niche.

That right there is just a classic golf story.

I tried to research it and I could not find that anyone on the PGA Tour has ever done that...I think that might mean I'm the best golfer of all time??? Haha :good:

Last month, I won both green balls on the front nine. One was 167yds the other 112 yds. And to make it even better I sunk the puts for birds.

I saved par on a par 4 after hitting my first shot out of bounds. I wasn't sure whether to be mad at myself or super excited. Probably the best par save I've had in my entire life.

similar On a par 5 for me. Drive goes out of bounds and end up with a bogey 6. That was one of the best bogeys I have ever had.

One time I holed out chip shots on consecutive holes.

Another time I holed out a blind bunker shot from the behind the green and thus managed to save double bogey (You take your positives where you can!).

Reminds me of playing TPC Summerlin. Over the green and there is a ranger standing watching me. Hit a little pitch that catches the slope, rolls down into the hole. The ranger yells..."Nice eagle." I turned to him and said it was a really ugly 8.

About thirty years ago I was playing in a member/guest with my dad. The second and last day was best ball format. I pulled my drive on #18, a 500 yard par five, and couldn't find my ball, so had to go back to the tee and hit my third shot. I hit a fair drive but thought i was probably wasting my time since my dad hit a good tee shot and was in good shape. I had about 250 left to the green so I decided I had nothing to lose and hit my driver. Hit a good shot to the fringe about 25' from the hole and ending up making the putt for par. The funny thing was that my dad three putted and made bogey. One of my best pars when it counted.

  • 2 weeks later...

Was playing by myself one day right before closing time. The 18th is a 550 yard par 5. After putting out on the 17th, I decided to go back into the fairway of the 17th and see how I could do on an ultra long par 5. Since the 17th fairway is in a direct line with the 18th tee, it worked out very well. I put a tee in the ground at 691 yards away from the 18th green (GPS confirmed). Hit a great drive to 428 yards. Right in the middle of the fairway. then hit a solid 3 wood off the deck to 171 yards. Ok. now it is 171 yard par 3. Hit a 7 iron to 20 feet below the hole and then rolled in the putt. Unofficial, but a birdie to me nonetheless.

Cliffnotes- Birdied 691 yard par 5.

FYI- The course was empty, so I was not holding up play or anything like that.
