I have a small confession. Sometimes I read through old Deal or No deal threads, mainly for laughs. It does amaze me how a seller can not send item in 3 months and keep the money, and then finally send it, and not get any punishment, but I open up a BST ad at 23 hours after last one and it is immediately shut down.

 

Otherwise, I love the site!

I'm pretty happy to say that in my time here i've never gotten a warning or a suspension. I have sent some emails to mods a couple of times to apologize for exacerbating the situation a bit in some threads that usually involved politics or whatever. I sometimes can't help myself from making a sarcastic joke, even if i know it's probably not a good idea

 

Well I'd be upset if you had.

 

As long as we are getting kind of campfire (but no alcohol or folk music to go along with it apparently) managed to collect my only two warnings in 9 years or so within the last month (not saying I haven't had plenty of posts deleted as certain threads were "cleansed" over the years). Funny thing was I had to email to figure out how to acknowledge, etc. because I just couldn't figure it out, so that was a little embarrassing - got a very to the point reply from Smallville and figured it out right quick!

 

Have appreciated those who are kind enough to send PMs over the years about one thing or another and don't do enough of it, but especially have appreciated getting a PM when my sense of humor was in question or tipping me off (not like I'm smart enough to listen) not to "engage" or get sucked in to certain arguments. Finding out I should be banned because I'm a site supporter and mod favorite (nobody is buying that one, lol) has been a revelation recently - taking the high road (maybe I am trainable) . . . . . .

 

I think things get sorted out pretty well, we all type before thinking from time to time and make snap judgments, and I've had some back and forth I've regretted with some guys I now really enjoy and understand them and particular situations that were of concern to them better. And if you aren't buying that, as they say across the pond, piss off! ;-)

Also, I remember when I joined SliceFixxer and the encyclopedia were a really big topic. I remember printing out the encyclopedia and reading it multiple times.

I am amazed no one has mentioned (or I missed it) SliceFixer! Geoff was great in the early days with his thoughts on the golf swing. Definitely, one of , if not the first, swing guru to regularly post on Wrx. I imagine he just got so busy and really couldn't take time to post anymore, but he was great.

 

When Tiburon's (another oldie but goodie) Jimmy Ballard thread came back around a few months ago, it was really neat to see SF's reasoned and measured responses. Definitely one of the good guys!

i've received a couple warnings but its usually for something like posting a new ad and forgetting to close the old one. I think one might have been for a poorly chosen joke that I could have kept to myself.

Short of lying or stealing or constantly trolling threads it would take a "special" person to get banned. I have been around for a few years and have received warnings but for posting BST before closing an older one and I think I poked a TM fanboy too hard and hurt feelings.

God no!

 

Chris ^%&^%. Took "fake" online lessons with some instructors on here so he could claim they didn't know anything, touted his own favorites to a fault, been out there on at least 3 other forums spreading his own version of strange. Putting up endless swing videos that all looked the same. Literally left with a profanity laced video directed at everyone on this site, including some instructors specifically, then somehow magically reappeared as Hogan1975 and then ultimately gone forever. I was "fortunate" enough and probably not alone to receive some fairly disturbing PMs. The worst of his behavior was in several threads that simply just got deleted altogether so not much frame of reference surviving.

 

 

Sorry Lefty, I've avoided saying anything about folks that can't defend themselves and I'll avoid the public record in this case but he had issues. ;-)

I was using the bathroom at Poppy Hills a couple weeks ago and they have all these old photos from California golf tourneys and they had this awesome reverse C photo teeing off on 18, I was going to take a pic, but then thought taking pics in the bathroom is just a touch dodgy, lol.

Rightylefty and his ablilty to be scratch from both hands was a classic thread.

 

KingLeo and the roar of the lion was amazing

 

JonesScott and his ability to beat tour players was a classic

 

The disappointing 68/bubba Long was another great thread can’t remember username.

 

Richard is always one of my favorites. I enjoy mtljeff (I’d say the most popular member on wrx). I liked mat562 a ton back In the day. Trembolo was great as well. Wolfpack is another underrated poster. Really lots of solid guys that provide tons of information to the site. I even love the trolls. They make it interesting.

I did both of these things. I think I still get e-mails from the Sevam1 site on an old e-mail account.

 

Slicefixer's document and other contributions helped me get into high single digits handicap way back then.

Ha! I was reading this thread when I thought of him just now. I was going to post something then saw your post. He was quite active and helpful. Nice guy.
