The PGA tour moves to florida, a promising sign that spring is on it's way. A fresh golf season coming soon, and "The Masters" !

Honda Field and odds

Rickie Fowler: 15-2

Justin Thomas: 10-1

Rory McIlroy: 10-1

Sergio Garcia: 16-1

Tommy Fleetwood: 25-1

Tyrrell Hatton: 25-1

Gary Woodland: 28-1

Alex Noren: 28-1

Mickelson not in the field

Prediction: Tiger announces (or at least starts working with) a new instructor before his next tournament if he sprays his ball everywhere again.

He doesn't have time on his side to mess around figuring stuff out on his own, especially with Augusta looming.

I thought is was a very recent announcement that he wanted to go it alone?

Maybe David Leadbetter would be a good choice at this point in each of their careers ;-). You would think it would not take much to move Tiger Frickin Woods, often considered one of the top 25 players of all time into the top 100 in GIR?

NO!

I have a friend that has a friend that has inside info on the tour. He says Tiger has already hired an instructor but hasn't made the announcement yet. Some guy named Chamblee. Anybody know anything about him?

I got Sergio at 18-1

Adam Scott at 50-1 would have been unthinkable last year!

They said on GC it’s a long course. Too long it hit irons off the tee? I don’t see Tiger making the cut here. Seems more likely to see two three balls get wet.

Cool tournament for our small, rural area of the Great Plains. We have two kids playing this week, Nate Lashley, who is on the big tour, and a Florida club pro who went to school here and qualified for this one, Andrew Filbert. Fun to watch guys you know and have played with (although I use the term “watch” loosely since neither will ever be shown).

Tiger 7/14 fairways in the pro am, 12/18 greens, was windy. Thoughts?

I think that sounds like progress and he is getting it dialed in. He still only has three tournaments under his belt since coming back. If it was 10 tournaments in and he was still all over the place, I think there is call for concern, but not yet.

I like Tiger to make the cut, finish top 20. Tommy Fleetwood wins in a three hole playoff against JT. Kiradech Aphibarnrat finishes top 5.

Agreed feels like slight progress, still think he will miss the cut with two or three thou but hopefully we see some positives

...says the guy that tees off with an acoustic guitar. Semi hollow body is the best choice for that shot. I stick by my predictions. Book it. Come Sunday afternoon you'll be begging me to pick your winner of the WGC.

Thinking about getting up at 4am and making the drive down from Orlando. I've never been to PGA National, so it would be a first. Anyone have any tips about parking? It looks like my options would be BallenIsles or Mirasol Elementary...is one better than the other?

Also, the rumor up here in Orlando is that there's this place called the Square Grouper in Jupiter where a lot of hot girls hang out looking to pick up golfers since Rickie, Justin, and the rest of that #JupLife crowd have been known to frequent it. I was thinking about stopping in just to see what it's like. If I was wearing a Titleist hat, do you think it would fool them into talking to me?

BallenIsles parking is fine. A bus will pick up up and take you to the course, 10 min drive max.

Torn between Woodland and McIlroy for my weekly fantasy league.

Any thoughts? Mcilroy didn't look good his last time out; Woodland did.

That said, Rory has some history at the Honda.

(to a lesser extent I am wondering about using Garcia.).

I guess a flip of the coin? McIlroy could come out pissed and play with a purpose...maybe. Or Woodland could ride his hot streak.

Those are preferred parking spots. Park at Haverhill at the old Dump. Take a 10-15 minute bus drive.

I am GenX.  If you really think I care about what you have to say, I don't.

The day he just hits 3 wood is the day he gets the low round of the field.
