I don’t think anyone is arguing about 30 years ago.

 

There was a statement that the field depth (skill, speed, whatever) changed completely between 2007 and 2017, and that is simply not true.

What IS true is that trackman was used by about 20-30 guys in 2009 (according to the trackman website) and by 2015, every guy on tour had their own machine. Hell, even the D1 golfers at my own club have all had their equipment and shafts totally dialed in via trackman.

I think most guys resigned themselves to the fact that Tiger winning was good for them and good for the tour. They're all multi-millionaires now with only a couple of wins on their resume, and pretty good endorsement contracts. This wouldn't have happened without Tiger, in my opinion.

True, but I don't think anyone is afraid of Tiger now. He's got a lot of ground to recover to get there. I doubt at 40something at his best that he can be more than than a contender not a dominant intimidator.

Course playing easy today. I reckon -9 leads going into Sunday and I think -11 wins this event.

They are saying tougher scoring conditions today. Come on Tiger!!! Stay in there. I want a Sunday where I can watch you contend alll the way to 18 with a chance to win. I really love watching Tiger putt. So much focus on other parts of his game but his putting is traditional and amazing. When he makes a putt and raises that putter over his head there is nothing like that. Chills!!

I have always like this tournament. Challenging golf course, solid field. I find this much more compelling than bomb and gouge -24 golf tournaments.

I think it’s around 7200-7300 yards, they showed it at one point on GC but I can’t remember the exact number.

Spieth said this Wednesday at Innisbrook: "I'll feel probably more nervous on the first tee tomorrow than I do on the first tee normally just given the setting."
